No way to build Backlinks??

I posted before about my website that gone downhill just months after creating it.

So basically, I've an anime news website in spanish language, i started posting on the website on Aug 2023.
Just days after i started posting, the website started getting tons of traffic (like 4k views and 100+ click a day) without personally knowing much about SEO that time and without link building.
by the end of September, some problems showed up in the theme so i changed it and exactly on 28th, 29th of the same month the site took a strong hit and went down.
Some friends told me that it was the theme that cause the problem (like changing it when the site was performing better) and others told me it was Google's updates. Since then the website didn't get any better at all and i'm genuinely thinking about abandoning everything and starting all over again but this is difficult.

Some of you here actually helped and gave me some advice especially about Backlinks which is the main issue i'm facing at the moment.
I currently have only one no follow backlink and DA of 1. (Backlinks are the most important aspect in a website to Google).
I'm currently trying to get some backlinks from websites (on the same niche) by emailing them directly but i haven't been successful so far despite the number of websites i sent an email to.
So, are there any ways i can follow to build backlinks that get results? (any way you could help me with is good even if it's blackhat).

You can look into BHW market place or post your requirements in HAF or WTB regarding the backlinks.

or Fiverr or SeoClerks where you can buy backlink from $5 onward.
But get a backlink from High DA site (like DA 60, DA 70 onward).
Not much use of getting links from DA0, DA1 sites.

BHW marketplace is the best for buying backlinks because moderators first test the backlinking services and then approve that post. And, on Fiverr, there are so many scammers.

If you are looking to build backlinks for free then it is hard to get them these days, or if you get any then most of the time it is from a low authority website and comes with a noffollow attribute.

Did you try changing back to original theme ? Did you use the new theme from official store or from some other source ?

There is solid services in marketplace, you just need to find best one & suitable for you.

Backlinks offer a solution you can find different services available in the marketplace to find one that fits your budget.

Does getting a backlink from a high DA site help boost traffic once again?

I agree. I haven't been successful yet with (sending emails and waiting for a reply).

No, i haven't tried to do that because the theme had some issues especially speed issues.. the theme takes too long to load.
+ Yes, i downloaded it from the official store.

If backlinks are the solution then why the website performed well at the beginning? As I know there was a Google update on September. Check if you had any copyright issue or technical issue that might be the problem.

How do i know that i have these kind of issue?
Googel search console doesn't show anything in the "security and manual actions" section.
