No UK rankings...

I have a website which is ranking on the first page of google US, but it is nowhere UK. The website has been up for 8 months! I've set the region to UK in webmaster tools. Any ideas why this is happening?

if u want good rankings for google uk then u need some nice backlinks from uk sites aswell as .com sites.

Might have something to do with the type of content.

i.e. people searching for a local dentist obviously dont want an international dentist. Google is getting smarter in this respect and would explain it not being in UK serps at all.

No matter what kind of content, try adding a london/uk section to your website.

It is for a famous UK based music group. I will try to source more UK links but it is odd that it is number 4 for US and not in the first 20 pages for UK. THere is a lot of tour date listings... for cities around the UK.

You need .co.uk links and it works even better if these sites are hosted in the uk as well.

I do, but this is redirected to .com.
