No Signature in BST Section Rule

a signature is one of the main advantages for donors. so i am against a removal anywhere.
if you have a sales thread your service and reviews should speak for themself and bring ou the orders. if someone is clicking on another banner he probably is not impressed with the offer he did just read.

So you bought your membership specifically to spam the BST section?

There are PLENTY of other places where you can post sigs. Not just the BST.

i personally dont post much in the bst section - dont buy much.
i said what i think i even do understand that a seller of a service does see that different.

but as i said if the sell thread is good or looks interesting i doubt that people read your service and then click on the first banner the see.

+1 for this idea.

I agree that many people just post to show their signature on other people's BST.

@W9go - on one side you pay to be a Jr Vip and therefore are allowed a signature - so I think it's natural to feel that it should be allowed anywhere. But consider this, BST threads do not exist unless the provider is also a Jr Vip and has payed for the thread. So the thread wouldn't even exist without them paying more money. For this reason I think that it is okay to wave Jr Vip (and up) rights in these special threads.

Its a good idea for the simple fact that it will eliminate any accusations of posting just for sig display. Sure, a sig is part of why some people upgrade, but I don't see it as being a problem.

Also, I think anyone that replies with "Looks Good" - "Good luck with sales" or "Oh darn, looks like I just missed the reviews" etc should get hit with something...it is retarded. I have seen the same dingleberry post "good luck with sales" in every single sales thread. It should be only serious questions and communications between buyer and seller. A "will come back later" post just sucks up space.

+1 Agreed

You have every right to advertise in your signature, but not in someone else's BST.

This isn't about being against competition, this is about the competition of the person who made the BST replying on the thread with a general post that is a little obvious in its intention to get a signature link in the thread. I've seen it happen; it's desperate black hat.

This is something that we have discussed in the past, and as far as I remember everyone (mods) agreed that it was a good idea. I don't know where it stalled out as far as getting it implemented, but DD is planning an overhaul of the BST section anyway. When/if it gets implemented is up to him.

It is more or less similar to hijacking others thread and diverting public attention.Good suggestion !

Pretty clear who like to troll BST threads and drop sig images.

I think the OP's idea is stellar +1

This place is a clutter mess of SEO hacks and Pimps with about 10% real shit and the rest ... just annoying eye-strain.

+1 [ billion ] on OP

No, personally I give a shit on it as I am no seller - i have no other use for my sig and gave it away but i have not one advantage if it generates leads or not, tbh i don't even care about it.
In my eyes, it is like walmart says, hey stop using k-mart bags in our house and every customer and its dog cries "yeah, how right you are!" We pay your bills by beeing your customer, but please please trim our rights.
One thing i really hate about BHW is the massive dickhead amount that is around here, searching for gurus they can pray to. Everything is about this fucking post count and reputation points. Guys like Leith can make postings about their socks and everyone would cheer him for that. Sorry Leith, really no offense against you - I know we can discuss on a normal level, but I am really annoyed that this communities becomes more and more a place for leaders and their asshamsters.

Well.. okay. Just because noone agreed with you doesnt mean you get annoyed man, chill out.

it is a valid point - if you sell say a seo product like back links
and 2-3 back link sellers drop in your new sales thread to wish you
luck or get a trial for review, its only right they should no to disable
there sig. others might say why care, if what you sell is good no
amount of sigs will effect you.

personally i dont care either way, hell i even advert my competition
in my sig - why? it doesn't bother me as it doesn't bother them
we all feel differently about it.

as for rep/post count, they mean nothing, hi or low does not
define you as a person, only the way you treat people and present
yourself. good people come with low or hi post/rep as do scammers

Great to hear that you guys thought it was good. Hopefully it gets rolled out with the new BST update.

I never knew you could disable your signature when posting. I thought it was either enabled or disabled. I wasn't even aware that we could do that but now I know.

I agree with Leith though the reason being that it makes the BST look clean and easy to look at.

Yes, similar threads have been posted before regarding the same topic.
Whenever I post in the BST section I usually tick the box to disable showing my signature, but sometimes I simply forget to do it.

I believe it would be a good idea to automatically disable all signatures in the BST section.

I raised this issue before. Thread got deleted in 2-3 hours. Not sure why it is not been implemented yet

If you don't like the forum or its members, you know where the door is.

I see a BIG lack of gratitude on your part for a forum that has given you
so much. As a member, if you see things that you do not like, you should
let your voice be heard in a CIVIL manner - rather than dissing the forum
and its members. Focus on SOLUTIONS - not PROBLEMS. We have a
Forum Suggestions & Feedback section . . . I suggest that you use it
as Leith has done with this thread.

Thank You - "Wiz"

As a automatic thing that disables them then I think that's a good idea. Temp bans and bans for not doing it manually seems a bad idea as we all forget. At the end of the day anything that benefits the seller and buyer is a god idea. . Anyway gets my +1 anything that makes a BST easier to skim is much better, all I want is to find out what's for sale peoples reviews and the sellers attitude everything else is irrelevant.

Some people are saying that you should not fear competition. This is not a matter of fearing competition. This is a matter of people
cluttering up other BST's which other members have paid for.

Sure, there are ads on BHW and that's how they make money - no problem. But the annoying thing is when a new thread pops up and
members chime in saying "Good luck" or "Looks good" and then they leave their signature behind. That BST had just OPENED and already
there are 2-3 signatures, maybe flashy and animated, taking over.

Like you said, temp bans is a bad idea and I should take that back. Instead, they should just permanently remove signatures in the BST section.
