Duckduckgo has a cool feature called !Bang where you can type for example !gi beore your search which will perform an encrypted google images search for you.

Well said mate, Google is a pain in the ass... This is the beginning of a revolution and BHW started the movement. hehe....

I use Google and Bing versus before when i only used google. Still not ready to leave Google completely and definitely the least everyone can do on BHW is take google off your homepage!
Also instead of using Google straight from their site, i use https://startpage.com/ , they claim to completely hide your identity and searches.

I agree to many thing said on this thread - both for and against.

i "almost" set my search default browser SE to bing while reading this but I remembered i need to know where i rank and where my competitors are.

and yes, i also hate google for slowly but steadily taking control out of our hands with google now NOT showing majority of the keywords in analytics i feel like jumping of - Burj Khalifa's 163rd floor and taking google along with me for the ride.

I wonder what google is gonna take off our hands next. :hurt:

I don't dig them and use the duckduck but G was still a bad search back when the spam sites ranked #1 w/ no value to the search.

Without wasting time I measure my SERPs by bank account formulas + and or -, =sum

I kind of agree with this as well, I mean a lot of the time I don't find what I want, but I do find something close to what I want, get distracted and get further away from the original goal....BUT I've learned to play with the search filters on G to really find what I'm looking for....doing a search within the last year, month, 24 hours, etc, and also searching by country, blogs, images, discussions - discussions are the best for content and info i think - that's how I found BHW way back when (I actually joined a couple years back but didn't remember my password and just became active this year lol). Duck 2gogo is good as well - I use twitter search when looking for a recent piece of info, a lot quicker, youtube works better too....bing man i wish it was good, it's just not. Also searching networks like reddit, wordpress itself, etc.
