No idea how much to charge him

I got my first SEO client today. Supposed to email him with prices within the next few hours.

I guess I'm sort of overanalyzing everything, cause it's my first client; I just don't wanna price too high, or too low.

If you're willing to have a look at the keyword competition (I had a look, and they don't seem very competitive), and see what a reasonable price would be.

Don't price him solely based on how easy it is to rank for their keywords. That is just one factor when I quote a business for SEO. You should charge based on how many hours it will take for you to complete all the linkbuilding, how much you need to change their on-page SEO, how long that will take, what kind of business they are, their customer lifetime value (how much a customer is worth), in addition to how easy it is to rank. I don't use all of the above when calculating a price but I like to use the following:

-Keyword competition
-Hours of work monthly
-Customer lifetime value

I put more emphasis on their customer lifetime value. I use it as my main selling point. For example...

If I was targeting a dentist, I would say, "Just 5 new clients a month from the hundreds of people visiting your website will cover the cost of one month of SEO."

Catch my drift?

Well, i had my first customer few days ago too, i charged him wayyyyyy to low.

I wanted to get him on board absolutly i charged him for 800$ but, 50% guarantee if contract accomplished.

Then, ,he told me he earns 8000$ a month with his site

My question is what kind of guarantee do you guy propose ?

Charge hm royalties on all extra sales brought about by your efforts

Charge for the initial work and then get a monthly consulting fee to maintain their SERPs. It should not be one and done deal.

I would also appreciate if someone can just post a demo proposal or template proposal which can be filled with necessary things.
