No, Google doesn't manipulate the rankings

Every time one of my websites starts ranking this happens:

Example A:

Website starts ranking is about to enter the Top 10 and then, boom, algo penalty hits and it goes straight to page 6.

Example B:

I created this website 30 days ago. Low to Medium Niche. High quality website with proper On- and Offpage SEO. I build it on an expired domain.

Website gets indexed and starts showing up in the Top 30, then gradually start ranking into the Top 5, where it stayed for a couple of days until this happened just now:

Wtf is this?

And by the way: Page speed is over 90 and I optimized the core vitals.

1) did you check what your competitors did
2) was there an update
3) did the ctr drop before rank drop

did you use a paid Audit tool to see if you can change something

every site i've ever ranked has dipped at least a few times on the way up

if your site dips and you give up its just proof to google that your site is a low-effort, thin affiliate site

if your site dips and you keep working on it -- that's when google will start to trust you

30 days your site is live? you're drawing conclusions after a month while your competition is investing $xx,xxx for years to see results.

There is good reason to believe that there are global changes in Google's algorithms at the moment.

Perhaps the site dancing is related to them.

Nobody understand OP yet since he posted this several times before.

Now I get a theory, if your website reviewed by a human reviewer, if your website sucks a bit (at least in his/her eye), you got fucked up.

Except this, no apparent reasons, again I don't believe Google always is following you, but it could be lol.

Do you order PBN links on this forum? Try whatever you are doing without the expired domain. I found spam, BHW PBNs and expired domains to be the issue.

I think the problem is with domain. Probably some bunch of spammers have your domain in their system where they clog it with toxic backlinks. The backlinks can be spammed everytime you create a post.

Just check site:yourdomain in the different phases

If a few weeks after the site going down you see that your domain is showing only a few results with the previous command, your site sucks and you got a CTR / bounce rate penalty

You do not need good onpage nowadays, what you need is visitors loving your site and staying there

I don't think it would get his site penalized. I observed a drop of 1 - 2 positions with low ctr. Your rule doesn't match all cases.

I would like to see the same scenario with good quality visitors, I bet the things would be different

Hi @terrycody,

that info about google human reviewer caught my attention. Is that true? Does google review sites manually? If they do that there has to be good reason. I can't imagine they do that for most of sites.

do you get a sense that google has some sort of heavy algorithm for top 10, and a much lighter one for 11+ spots?

Does google have human reviewer?

Yes, around at least 10K in the whole world, or even much more, this topic discussed in a senator hearing conference where Google CEO also present.

Will human reviewer rating affect a site's ranking?

Well, Google said no, but I doubt it, who knows, this could be possible reason since OP's site always like this, rank and down without any reasons for XX sites, he talked about this before.

We noticed a lot of sites, when site:yourdomain, only showing 4 or 7 result, when this happen, the site is going to die.

Not enough trust and Low CTR. Change your title and meta description to increase ctr.

This happened to me a few times as well - the problem is that even when I continued working on the website and putting my 100% effort into it, the traffic never recovered

In most cases, it will retrace back those spikes after a couple of weeks.
For WH sites with no links, it may extend to 2-3 months on average.
