Should I make my links to Amazon products no follow? Or does it even matter?
Google apparently hates affiliate links so personally, I'd say nofollow ALL affiliate links.
Link to your own site with nofollow.
User clicks nofollow link on your site -> link redirects to yourdomain.com/out/2882/ -> yourdomain.com/out/2882 redirects to Amazon affiliate link
If you want to go crazy with it, use a redirect on yourdomain.com/out/2882/ that loads after the header is loaded, so you can put nofollow/noindex in the header too.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought doing this to Amazon links was against Amazons terms of service.
I think somewhere in their terms page they have changed their policy to any of your aff links must be clearly visible as amazon urls like when you hover over them, the amazon url shows up at the bottom of the browser. - Something along those lines anyway. Wouldn't want someone to lose there account over this.
No follow does the trick for me anyway.
Thank you. I will just No Follow and hope all works out well.
Yes, it is in their ToS that visitors should know that they will go to Amazon.
My links to Amazon are very clear.
Separate names with a comma.
