No Follow, Do Follow ratio

Just analyzing a competitor's website, they seem to have got hit from that last emd update. It's a competitive niche and they have gone from the top 3 to 32 place. Just looking at their backlinks they have roughly 15,000 backlinks nearly 96% are do follow and 4% no follow. Would they have got hit because of this? Just looked at the guy in number 1 spot now and he has 60% do follow and 40 no follow?

I think the ratio of 60% and 40% is good. Having more no-follow links decreases the chances of getting hit.

I don't care about any kind of ratio. I just build links when ever I can find them or when ever I can get a chance to put a link anywhere in the web.
The most important thing to me is the relevancy of the links.

I think if we use quality link building with do follow and no follow combination , so 60:40 ration is good

It's quite true that having only 'do follow' is suspicious. As Google's (and other search engine's) algorithms become better, they might find it suspicious that a website has only ‘do follow' backlinks. If your website generates natural backlinks you should be fine, but if not, you don't want to create only ‘do follow' backlinks.

As for me, 70:30 ration works well

I think good ratio of ******** and nofollow links is 80%(********)/20(no follow).

First try to get the quality backlink and behind them ratio must 50% - 50%
