Hi guys,

I have a client that just got de-ranked, from first page to page 60.

He used linkvana and guest posts.
I checked with him if the network got any site de-indexed and found no proof of that. Then I started to see that all his anchor texts consisted only of 2 keywords (the ones he used to rank quite good). No surprise that he got down..

However, my question is: how do you guys managed to get back after doing this?

I am thinking to diversify his anchor texts and link types as well. Any thoughts or some wisdom to share?

Appreciated.

I would bet that he recieved Googles unnatural link penalty. Nothing to do with the anchor text, Google simply devalues links if they don't look natural.

Start building clean and quality backlinks on the site , like web 2.0 blogs and make big anchors diversification.. Like 10-15% only for primary keyword

He's not using google webmaster. :)

Do you have any advice on how to approach this?

If he only used two words in his anchor text then this is most likely the reason for the drop in rankings. And Linkvana is also a good reason too.

He needs to diversify his anchor text and make it look more natural, like "click here" "visit site"...etc...you can get creative with this and think up a couple hundred variations and also use naked urls...

Generate a short link of LSI keywords of the main keyword and use them in future links.

Also, aside from the "Click Here's" etc, it's best to do 3-5 keywords. 2 is too obvious.

Ow that very sad .. And i am with Mr. Fathom ..
I think he received Google's unnatural link penalty ...

seriously, guys, all this click here nonsense is irritating
your link profile should be created in this way

step1. go to google's keywordtoolexternal page
step2. put in the keywords you want to rank for
step3. click exact match
step4. put in a minimum monthly search value
step5. hit search
step6. pick 30 by doing competition analysis
step7. add in business name, and website name including tld
step8 use that list for link diversity that is actually worth a damn
