OK so I want to share something with you quickly. The idea is to take someone who is doing well at a thing you would like to emulate and then model them as closely as you can.

In my case I took 1 or 2 guitarists and I modelled every detail I could find out about them. I became obsessed for a little bit almost to the point of stalking, but only in my quest to emulate them and for the most part people tell me I was pretty succesful at it.

OK so then I start a new method and I start looking at what other people are doing and how they are banking with it. I check out what they say on twitter, I find their links and start investigating where and how they are posting them. I check out what other people are saying about them. All in an effort to model what they are doing.

Believe it or not, the idea of modelling someone in IM never occured to me until this morning but it has worked so well for me in the past that I know I can put it to good use.

Choose someone you admire in this industry and then emulate the feck out of them. Get obsessed! When you find out they eat cooked breakfast every morning you do the same. As you model them, try to determine what pieces of information feed into that success. Slowly you will begin to emulate their success, it is pretty inevitable.

Oh, and if I had the chance to model just one person for real and follow him around for a few days it would be Harro, that guy was a walking ideas machine.
