Niche Site 2019 Two Year Journey

Hi,

INTRODUCTION

I have made good money doing a few things in affiliate marketing and other endeavours over the last 10-15 years and I am looking to actually do some pure white hat plays this year to see how they pan out.

Why ? The main reason is that I feel like I have stagnated and need to set some goals and look to stretch myself again in some new areas. This new area is white hat niche site creation. The reason I am going in this direction is due to the really good results I am seeing from the students of IncomeSchool. I will be following the concepts from their Action steps. At the same time I am working through Tai Lopez and Grant Cardone Courses and they are reminding me of some stuff which I had forgotten and have re-motivated me to take action.

I will be putting cash against this but not a lot. I intend to throw less than $100 at it to get it going to prove it works which is basically a few new domains and a new hosting account. I will reinvest earnings to speed up growth as the earnings are generated.

My journey will be also followed on a new site I created http://myactionplanforsuccess.com as sometimes blackhatworld is not available. I also put it on a new site as I find forum threads can end up being left for dead but when your paying even a few dollars for hosting you tend to be more motivated to update it. I don't have any advertising on the site and I have no affliate links or info products to sell. I am just starting and its a site to produce a pure case study on my progress and the exact steps I am taking each day. The theme is basic and its pretty ugly

So what have I done so far:

ISSUES / PROBLEMS FACED:
- Blackhatworld was down and I wanted to get a hosting package from there which caused a delay in getting out the Day 1 post.
- Not wanting to create a Youtube video. It felt like it was more personal making a video and tus more frightening/embarrassing. I hate talking on camera.

CONCLUSION
A fulfilling first day that was setting the concepts for going forward. Today was about getting into the right mindset and setting up the plan to move forward. Taking action is the key at this stage to get moving forward. Once I am moving forward then being able to sell effectively will multiply my ability to succeed.

SUMMARY OF THE DAY:
I got a lot done because it is the weekend. I suspect going into the week I will have more limited time but I will continue to chip away at the steps and tasks and keep moving forward.

I had extra time today so put in another hour on the tasks. I finished Action Step 3 tasks. This one I called Personality and branding.

The tasks were:



Tai went through his PASE personality tests and I was interested to see I came out of it as P.A.S.E or possibly P.A.E.S.

Income school required time spent on choosing the topic and getting a logo. I did not sign up for the hosting and setting up wordpress yet as tat is fairly easy and I have no content to put up there yet. I'll do that all in one quick swoop when the time is right for the first bit of content to be posted.

Grant started to get interesting and talked a lot about committing to what you are doing. Its high level stuff but makes complete sense.

Dude, if you want to promote a site, do it right and don't say 'sometimes bhw is not available'. I have been here for years and i can tell blackhatword has been online 99.99 percent!

Thanks for the feedback. Whether you read the extended post on the site I leave up to you. There is still a lot of information I am posting here. Perhaps it is a timezone thing, I find the site can be hard to load at times. Perhaps my timezone is when they do backups, but there is definitely slow times and recently the DOS attack made it unavailable for quite a while.

I got through the latest stage quickly as a lot of it was just watching videos. Here is the tasks I did under ACTION STEP STAGE 4:

A summary of the post is below:

I spent a bit more time on Grant Cardones videos. It was quite interesting but still a lot high level information but a lot of it resonates with me.

Tai's video took 17mins to determine if you were an introvert or extrovert and I could tell you the answer to that in 20 seconds. At the end of the video I felt like I had just reconfirmed the answer I would have given at the beginning of the video.

THe INCOMESCHOOL components were really basic wordpress setup guides. I did not do any of those items and put them all on pause for now as there is no use putting up an empty site with no content. I'll revisit these items when I have content to post.

Nothing much to report today as it was really all just watching videos which while interesting made me feel like I had wasted a day. Hopefully tomorrow I get moving on some constructive stuff again and taken action on moving forward.

Thanks. Have you done any of Tai's courses ? Did you find them helpful ?
I'll start posting results when I finally get a site going for INCOMESCHOOL but I am not quite at that stage yet.

I've kept up the pace and pushed through a bunch more videos. Here is the tasks I did under ACTION STEP STAGE 5:



Grants course ws all about being committed to yourself and the product you are selling. If you don't believe in the product or service then you can't sell it effectively as you will be lieing to yourself and people will be able to sense that. He talked about how you should own the product or at least really want to own the product as its easier selling experiences (I bought it for this reason and I found XXX) then it is selling an item.

Grant proposed an exercise to list how you are different to your competitors. I did the exercise and my thoughts are on my blog post. Essentially I came up with how my sites will be different to others and how I will different to others. Most of them are common sense and some I took straight out of INCOMESCHOOL as that is the course I am focusing on. Tai's course used the power of association in it by including four scantly clad women listening an participating in his video. I say the power of association as its a selling trick to make you think that if you follow his course those 4 women will also want to listen to you. Its a simple sales tactic to get your point across more convincingly and it works in a very subconscious way even if you know it is happening. Anyway Tais course was about whether you are a creator or a doer. I find myself to be more of a doer

Income School focused on SEO this video and they approached it from a commonsense approach. Basically no black hat techniques and just provide helpful, useful content. Also provide as much content as you can. They recommend three types of posts ranging from about 1500 words all the way up to 6000+ words. They talked about each article type and why you use it and when they should be used. Still no content creation yet but it sounds like it should be starting very soon.

Overall it was yet another day of videos. I learnt a few things and am still enjoying all three courses. Its interesting how todays I wasn't impressed with Tai's or Grants Videos but really enjoyed the incomeschool video. Whereas other weeks it has been the other way around. I will keep pushing through as much as I can and these blog posts and the posts here are really keeping me focused and motivated so expect them to keep coming up almost daily while I can.

Once the content is up I will start posting results so that you can follow along on the process and see whether the incomeschool course works.

I had this post ready to go a few hours ago but bhw did not want to load for me. But the good news is I am back now and can put up the steps I took in the next stage:

So ACTION STEP STAGE 6:



So the first thing I did in this stage was watch the scalable business video by Tai and it made complete sense. When you looking to start a new business you don't want to replace your job with another job that requires your time in order to earn money. You want to start businesses that can be simple to replicate or ones which can be replicated with actions that continuously bring in income instead of exchanging your time for money.

Grants videos were about using your time effectively and how much time do you waste. He asked for a time inventory to be taken and I found in the previous 24 hours I had wasted almost 8 hours in activities which I could have dedicated to money making endeavors. That was a real eye opener for me. My time inventory is available on my money making case study site. One of Grants key hates is wasting lunch hours with the same people and not selling. If you waste 1 hour a day 5 days a week 52 weeks a year that is 260 Hours you could have been doing something to promote your business or working towards your goals.

Income school finally got to the meat of the project and involved watching a few videos on picking topics and competition analysis. All pretty much commonsense and what you see on their free videos online on youtube. There were a few actions to take which involved creating your own topic list (hit list) and assessing the competition to work out what sort of post to write. They have three posts which are called response posts, staple posts and pillar posts. The main difference is length which is 1500 vs 2500 vs 3500+ words. My list is done and I have analysed the competition and I am ready to go.

One of the important things which happened this week is the first niche I decided on I decided to drop. I put what it was and why I dropped it in the blog post. I have picked a different niche to cover and I am much happier with my choice.

On my walk I have been listening to some podcasts by Tai and the guy is brilliant in his delivery and name dropping. He obviously reads a lot and has a lot of experience. I am eager to consume as much information from him as possible.

Just a quick update today.

I have bitten off a bit more then I could chew in 24 hours and with a bit of travel involved in my day I have not been able to finish all the activities.
I will try and get an update done in the next day. I am finally in the section of the course where I can put pen to paper (of fingers to keyboard) and create some content. My topic is very narrow and I have about approx 1000 words written. I need to proof read it and see what is the next question people might ask in order to provide even better content. I'll be working on bumping that 1000 words up at least another 500 words.

A full update will be posted hopefully tomorrow.

Well Action steps Stage 7 is finally completed. It involved doing the following tasks:



I should have realised from this stage on the work is going to be more doing then watching videos. Content has finally started to be written. As I said I changed my topic so I had to get my head into this new topic and start to learn about it. It takes me about 30 mins to research the answer an about an hour to write the post. I also did another 30 mins follow up rewriting bits of it and expanding it where necessary. I think the quality of the article is high. For such a low search keyword I am hoping it should rank 1 after a few months as it really is on point and provides a much more comprehensive answer than any of the other sites.

I need to set up some metrics to keep so I think I will start that from the next post. Obviously UV and PV are going to be in there but they are all what you call post metrics. They measure the results once something has happened. I need to incorporate some lead metrics. I am thinking my lead metrics are keywords targeted broken down into response posts, stape posts and pillar posts. I will also measure words written. These will be my lead measures and if I keep increasing those then my post measures should also increase. Anyone got any thoughts on other lead measures I could look at or post measures (apart from monetization as I am not up to that stage yet.

As far as the videos this week the one from Income school was very basic and apart from reconfirming their post recipe it did not have much in it. The videos under Tai lopez course were not done by him but both had interesting angles and thoughts to consider. Grants videos hounded about wasting your lunch hours with work colleagues instead of selling which makes complete sense.

I brought my wasted hours dramatically and I'll probably consider that every few posts to see how I am tracking.

So what were the main learnings:
- Wealthy eople value time
- You don't get rich saving
- Businesses are cheap to start these days. So there is minimal risk.
- The amount of time, energy and attention you put into a business depends on the amount of money you want to invest.
