Hello everybody! I am a beginner in the SEO world, and i am willing to learn, gain experience and of course make some $$ with this site.

Started my site ( health nice in that time) in June and gave up after 1 month cause I wanted to focus on other things, I was thinking that SEO would be too hard for me.

Picked up the site again about a month ago, deleted all the junk content I had on it and changed it into a pet niche.

The goal is 10$ / day because that is the minimum wage in my country, after reaching that sum I will sell the site or maybe scale it to the MOON :).

The site is not in english!

What I did so far?
  • 22 articles - 600-700 words average, 60% informational, 40% affiliate
  • Targeting low competion words (30-40 searches a month) and mostly search intent that pops with UGC.
  • I don't have money for link building for now, so besides the host and domain I am not paying a single $, all content and SEO stuff is done by me
  • Optimized every article with proper internal linking, external linking, formatting
  • Social signaling every article ( I had a post that went ''viral'' and drove 1k visitors)
  • Trying to build links in forums and web 2.0 sites
  • I have 5 keywords that are taking top 10 according to GSC
Problems

I focused on 2 subjects - parrots and dogs ( certain races ), now for the parrots articles they are not getting indexed and trying to fix this
The dog posts seems to do ok (5/12 articles indexed), started gaining some authority I think because when I post a dog related article I am getting indexed in a few hours

So, trying to really index the other ones ASAP because they are already 1 month old, something is wrong!

Meanwhile I will still try to pump daily content.

I really hope my journey will motivate some of you, and i am waiting for your advice and suggestions, SEO is a great skill that I want to learn :).

Update:
Wrote 1 more article because I focused more on optimizing my other posts.

It seems that some keyword cannibalization happened (basically Google picked up the indexed posts with my focus keywords from those which aren't indexed).
So I merged the not indexed posts into the indexed ones...let's see how this goes.

Rankings are slowly increasing, maybe in 1 month i will reach the first place for at least one keyword!

Still haven't solved the issue with indexing and it seems that my last article didn't get indexed aswell.
If you have any ideas about this issues I am all ears :)

Good luck with your journey. Yes, I have slow indexing problem as well, even on older sites.

Update:

  • Wrote 2 more articles, 600-700 words each
  • Focused more on the design, translated the ''next page'', ''next post'' etc.
  • Keywords slowly growing
  • The 2 posts that I merged in the last update got deindexed..., i am trying to fix that
  • The other articles are still not getting indexed
  • Optimized some 404 errors
  • The site is still moving slow but I am starting to get 1-2 UV / day

Update: On tuesday I had 4 UV, yesterday 2 UV, I don't really know where are these coming from because just 1 of my keyword is ranking on the position 5.
Wrote 2 more articles - started to get a bit lazy, trying to pump 2 more until the end of this week.

Removed the dates from URL ( I should have done that way back) and redirected (301) all of the already indexed URL to the new ones.

The 2 modified posts still aren't indexed, not a worry now because I've read that when you change a post too much it may trigger G and results in a revaluation of the content, let's hope they will rank higher!
I've noticed that posts are getting indexed in a matter of hours now, so that means that I gained a lilttle bit of authority?

Update:
  • Wrote 2 articles, and trying to pump another 1 today!
  • Traffic is fluctuating but on average 2-3 UV/day
  • The merged posts got reindex, i am really glad that this happened but they are no changes in rankings, they even moved down a bit
  • Received more backlinks from spammy sites
  • I managed to get a few easy keywords to target so I don't need to focus on KW research for a bit
  • Hoping that I will pump 3-4 articles till the next week.
  • A keyword reached position 4 according to SERP Robot
I am really excited that things start to ''move'', no $ coming yet but at least i see changes and progress!

Check your sitemap to make sure it is reading all your pages correctly.

Are you using internal links?
