Niche relevant link are good for long term, if you can get both that will help you boost your ranking as well as get long term results.
The weight and value of niche related backlinks are more than high pr backlinks, because they will increase your SERP instantly generate decent amount of traffic as well.
I'd go with niche related links if I were you - I've been penalized before for having links from "high" pr sites that weren't niche related. If it was a site you really cared about, I'd also study the content and S.E.O strategy of the sites you want to link to yours.
Agree with all of the above. looking at all the latest Google changes, i try to completely avoid unrelated high PR links. even if they make the desired effect, the chances of future damage are way to high (unless it comes from really authoritative sources). Niche targeted backlinks, and i mean good contextual ones, are better for rankings, and also has the potential to send targeted traffic and help build the site's reputation. also i can't see how it can be harmfull in any way.i believe only niche related links are future and totally safe
i never use anything but related links and never had any problems
So is a backlinks from a domain with PR5 with no good backlinks worth more than a PR3 with more quality backlinks?
