Here is the Keyword flights to new york

Marketing samurai says that the
SEO COMP- 273k
SEO TC-49,300
Daily search is 18k

Micro niche finder says
Exact Phrase count 258,000
Local Monthly 27,100
Global monthly searches 201k

Now when i search this via Google i see
112,000,000 Results...

Google keyword tool says
Local searches monthly 673,000

Global searches monthly 1,000,000

Ok WTF? Is this an ideal keyword when i look at it through my tools it seems fine...But when i look at it via google directly i get that many results which make the keyword seem unfavorable.

How can i go about doing manual keyword research to get a decent idea which one of my keywords are good... Lol im guessing if this keyword is good i kinda blew it :reddy:

Also has anyone else run into a problem such as this?

well there is not 100% working tool for keywoird research cause everyone would use it. The only way to be sure, is to do it manualy. Imaginre a working keyword software, everyone would put a hand on it, and all "good" keywords would be taken. If you want accurate result, and be sure of the result, only manual work will give you a good idea of the keyword.

I would say... use KEI ( keyword effectiveness index) on each keyword and go for the highest value. You gotta trust google as #1 browser around. Make sure you use google adwords keyword tool and results tailored to English, US

Hi, I have seen this before...
And It can be explained by several factors:
1. are you suing Broad match (search without the quotes) ofr exact match (search with "")
2. Google has started to give results based on your profile, if they can get it...
So they track you country, your past search, etc..
Using tools gives you a different perspective, as they hide this process from you, by using their own proxies.

As I see you are using MS... I tend to agreed with this tool.
Check that you have selected the correct country when you started the project, and use the tool to check the competition links.. that is better that just looking into traffic numbers.

Did you check the competition for this keyword?
Even using BH tactics and tools it will require hard work to get into a profitable position in the SERPS.

Unless of course you're not going for organic traffic....;)
