Niche edit links require article re-caching to work？

4 days have passed since I inserted a niche edit link in an article on an authority site, and Today I see that the article has a cache date of July 9th (Cache:domain.com/insert-edit-page).
Does this mean that Google crawlers haven't recrawled the page yet, so the niche edit link won't work? Only by re-caching the page does the link work?

Yeah you're going to want to submit it to an indexer for Google to crawl it again

Only after Cache:domain.com/niche-edit-page, the displayed date is the date after the link is inserted, which means that the niche edit link starts to work, right?
Also, does a niche edit link work faster than a guest post backlink? Generally, how long does it take for a niche edit link to promote the SERP ranking?

If the site gets updated on a regular schedule, often times Google crawlers find it within 72 hours.

But if it's not then you can ask the webmaster to submit it to GSC to push a fresh crawl.

I'm not quite understanding your first question. If the cached date displayed for the page is after the link was inserted and when you checked the cached version of the page it displays your link inserted, then yes it should start to work.

Usually around 2 weeks is when you see the change in SERPS, it will bounce around a bit. Both guest posts and niche edits should show results in your SERP rankings around the same time

Google is random, either one could take 1.5 weeks, 2 weeks, 2.5 weeks etc
