I had such a site a few years ago (not international though), and I can tell you it is very hard. Big players in the dating niche who originally ran general dating sites, now run niche dating sites. They do it often on sub-domains of the main, or they have groups/rooms and other tools to make it "niche looking". Very hard to outrank and compete with, considering their user base...

Dating sites in general need a lot of cash in a short period of time - because you need to start big, to get a lot of members in a first stage. Nobody will register on a site that has just few members, and a "potential" to grow big. People are too impatient--they will go for a site that is established already.

The formula that can work in this case is to start with a bunch of botted accounts, and do a really strong 1st phase of marketing. Once done properly, you can delete the botted accounts, and move on from there.

But most of the time if you do your math and some sample testing you'll see you're doomed to fail, since the ROI just won't be positive for the project (unless you have a very special site/concept/niche, which is unlikely
