I tend to post a variety of content but my views are pretty inconsistent. is tiktok still using niche clustering for content distribution?

Yes niche selection is very important and you should only post in 1 niche in order to maximise your views.

It still seems to work better when the content stays fairly consistent, since jumping between too many topics can make it harder for the platform to understand the audience which often leads to less consistent reach from post to post

Yes TikTok still pushes content based on niche signals so if you keep changing topics it confuses the algorithm and makes your views less consistent.

It is an NLP problem of Transcribed Audio. TikTok’s AI now indexes the actual words you say in the video and on-screen text to build your account’s “Topic Authority” score. If your spoken keywords are totally different from video to video, the semantic search graph resets your account trust and kills your baseline views.

wow, I had not thought of that, so the groupings of keywords you speak in a given video need to connect to each other too? Thank for the insight
From what I've seen, accounts with a consistent theme tend to get more stable results. You can still test different formats, but staying within the same general niche usually works better.

For more stable reach try keeping a clear main topic while testing variations within the same audience interest. TikTok still uses interest based niche signals but it's not strict anymore. Mixed content can make early distribution harder.
