I am working with a highly competitive keyword, I am looking for advice on what you feel would be the best software investment to make to try and push it up the rankings.

Build My Rank - currently trialling this with NO movement in SERPS after 10 posts

Senuke - tried this for one month with no movement

Unique Article Wizard - tried this a few months ago and had some good movement up the ranks on this, but seemed to stop after I hit page 2

Link pushing - tried this with good movement but my keyword needs a lot of them to see movement, think it got stale because without providing my own articles it is just scrapping and spinning the same ones over and over

I currently have AMR and SB, I am convinced AMR is hurting my rankings but I am still testing this on another site I am working on, if I can reproduce a rankings drop again today I will be dropping it because I think it might be having a negative impact.

Any advice on what I should be using? Anything I have missed?

I think you may already have your 2 answers and may be slow to admit it. The answer isn't in a tool, the answer is in a variety of tools and variety within each. Lemme explain...

Your best bet is to use an approach that builds different kinds of links -- so your first step may be to group tools into "blog spam" "article marketing" "press release" etc... (Note: its important that the tools u use not only have these abilities, but you actually use them!)
SO AT THIS STAGE YOU'RE VARYING LINK TYPE = LOOKS NATURAL

Next, you mentioned "without my own articles..killing off duplicates" or something to that effect. Without maximizing features of a tool like SeNuke -- why bother moving on to the next? Each tool needs content, and the more unique it is the further your site will travel up the ranks. DUPLICATE CONTENT SUCKS -- So whatever tools you settle on, be sure to give them hi-powered fuel (you mentioned COMPETITIVE KWDS, so you're in the big race with low powered fuel). For this I'd recommend more quality article / press release writing and spun with TBS (The best spinner)
NOW YOU'RE VARYING CONTENT (SEO TOOL FUEL)

VARIED CONTENT + VARIED LINK *TYPES* = SEO GOLD

I think its hard to determine what improves your SERP's with out a definitive trial (only using one method). As you back links can be found 6months down the line and give your big SERP increase for something you did 6months ago.

Research your competitors, look at what they are doing. The value of their back links and built more than them, high PR than them, more diversity than them and you will out rank them... over time.

    Good luck :)

I don't see how AMR can hurt your rankings unless the articles you start with pretty crap, spammy, spun articles.
I use it and have no issues but all of my articles are original. I combine it with a mixed RSS feed and social bookmarking and it works well.
Saying that,I only use 5 article directories and 5 social bookmarking sites so like anything,I guess the end product is a direct result of the quality you put in at the front end.

    Sup verdox,

It is difficult for anyone to be able judge SERP movements in the short
amount of time you mentioned. Often what I see also is while you're building
links you will still be bouncing around in the SERPs for a good while.

The tools you mentioned are good. When I look at a program/software I
try to look at how effective it is to use, the UI, success rates, speed of the
program, features you need/could need, etc.

Reason being is it's not so much about the tool, but more your linking strategy
and effort behind the too. I'm sure you know all this, I am just saying ;)

    Tools I recommend:
    SB - a must for work-flow
Venom SEO Pro - speedy, efficient, features still coming
    Senuke X - (you've used)
Venom SEO / Profile link robot (forum profiles + more)
Seo Link Robot - like a little brother to Senuke X, but very simple to use

    Just code for thought ;)
    Jb

    Home Page:
I would have to agree with jblaze, those are all pretty good tools for general SEO (building backlinks etc) however, SEO PowerSuite is something I would recommend to streamline your work process.

Better yet I might have something else for you if you are looking to get your URL to the top of Google - Answer Assault (personal plug, effective nonetheless).

I'm with pokerjk on this one, the next logical step would be to analyse your competitors. See what links they have and outdo them in every aspect if you can.

Add fresh content where possible and you should see some serious movement. That push from page 2 to 1 is harder than the others in my experience.

In my niche the competing sites are just ecom sites, there are only two other guys link building and they are not doing as much of it as me, basic article marketing stuff, of which i have done far more of.

They all do have a sprinkling of high PR links, high PR blog comments being the big one. I am going to focus on this the next few days and scrape very high PR blogs to do so manual comments on rather than depend on AA lists.
