I cannot remember having read any newsletter. I always felt like doing something else. I even went as far as looking for the obligatory "unsubscribe" or similar link in my email program as part of my spam filter, so every newsletter goes to trash.

I am writing this because for me to write good newsletter copy, I would have to read newsletters myself.

The problem is not you or the newsletter. The problem is those that are sending newsletters that are not interesting. If you keep getting uninteresting newsletter, feel free to unsubscribe or send an email to the senders to unsubscribe you.

i read a few newsletters, including bhw's one, they are a good way to keep up to date with your favorite site, maybe not the best for small sites like amazon affiliate niches.

The problem is that they are taking and not giving. Newsletters are 100% advertising in my experience. If you get an ebook for free when submitting your email address, you give your email address for the ebook, not for the newsletter that every salespage has included because someone came up with the idea that advertising would be read.

Just because you don't read newsletters doesn't mean other people don't. Newsletters done right can significantly increase traffic and conversions.

I agree on the above comments. I don't usually read all newsletters as its a complete spam. But thinking of a well done newsletter that actually carries a message to the audience is another thing. I plan on introducing a newsletter campaign to my website soon after I get a necessary conversion
