Am presently working on a news blog. I would really appreciate it if you guys will give me a hint on how to drive traffic to the site and i would also appreciate any advice on how to improve on the site as a whole. Because of the forums policy on link postings,i would prefer if you guys would pm for the link to the blog so you can check it out and help me criticise it thoroughly. @Zwielicht please come over here and help me out! Thanks

Focus on Twitter adn Facebook.

If your news are related to finance, or current events / business related, focus on Twitter.

If your news are celebrity related, or anything easy to digest, than focus on Facebook.

And if you have particular angles/views on a news story, you could give Medium a try.

Social is the best way to generate traffic for news related articles.

I will highly recommend you social media sites to generate the decent amount of traffic to your websites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus. And, bear in mind, the content of your site must be of high quality and unique.
