Is there a way to rejig the sign up process?

So someone joins, fills out their details etc.
Then they're redirected to a page where they need to read and sign that they have read the T&Cs of the forum, such as no trying to sell outside official threads etc.

Then they're sent to another page, which is a sticky to tell them where/how to post.

This would help relieve workload of Mods having to move posts/ threads and people won't post in the totally wrong sections, such as this;

Won't work.

Newbies are becoming more and more lazy. What makes you think they will actually read any of it?

All they want to do is sign up and post that first:

"Help me make money online"

I have seen on another forum before where certain keywords or phrases triggered an automated moderation system which suggested that their questions had been asked before and you should read the existing threads rather than create a new one.

Don't know if that type of thing exists on this platform???

how about maybe making the intro section a 50-100 posting section
it would cut down on some users doing 15 posts in a day there just
to be able to send pms and post links, would make them have to
earn it a little more. just a thought . as mods daily end of having to
trim back spammed posts down there .

Anything to do with muscle enhancement, penis enlargement, beauty creams or relationship/wealth guru type threads.

Imho the first thing people should learn how to use is the 'search'.
I keep seeing the same threads/questions so many times over and over again.

Teach them, no... Tell them they f*** must use the search function before posting a new thread.
And, let them know how they can search BHW using Google.

And please implement that thing @sturose mentioned.
I have seen that as well, but don't remember where.

P.S. I hate when someone just posts 'thank you' or some similar BS to build up their post count.
Please do something regarding that.

Let me add to that...
  • This is not a black magic love spell forum.
  • Your WordPress website isn't that special.
  • AdSense rejected your website because it's garbage.
  • We know when you're inflating your post count.
  • The giveaway section is not your chance to soft sell.
  • Sirs and Dears are called "magistrate" on BHW.
  • BHW is not a site filled with doctors, so stop asking for medical advice.
  • You don't need to announce your gender in your intro thread title.
  • This isn't Facebook.

The only problem with this is you are missing out one vital thing. Half these retards are too dumb to read.

Hmmm, excellent point there.

The only thing that may prevent some of the useless spam that we see all the time is to annoy the fuck out of the ones that are truly looking to spam the forum.

When someone hits the submit button for a thread that is on our list of dubious subjects the notification could pop up on their screen which can not be dismissed until X amount of time has expired. A bit like when you have a countdown timer on T&Cs so you have to either look at it or sit and wait like a muppet.

It's not going to stop the complete imbeciles but it'll slow the fuckers down.

  • You aren't getting subs on your YT channel bc your videos suck.
  • No one wants to see your shitty YT videos.
  • No one cares why there's (supposedly) more women than men in IM.
  • Keep your thoughts about other genders to yourself.
  • FB/IG/Twitter/every other social media website ever is not your friend.
  • Figure out how to monetize your own hot girls IG account.
  • No one is going to give you their money making method. Find your own.
  • Algorithms change. Get over it.
  • No one is going to tell you how to get around algorithm changes.
  • The sky is not falling.
  • Cryptocurrency is not the new way to get rich quick.
  • Shut up and sit down. Not necessarily in that order.
 
I think they should set up an auto ban for anyone who puts the word expert or guru in their username or thread title as well.

I've been doing my offline work on and off for over 25 years. I know a lot about it but there is always someone that knows more than me!
