Newbie with a Proxy Question

Hello BHW members,

Just now I've stumbled upon this website and I like the organization of this place.
For the next few days, I'll try to go deeper and ask a lot of questions from the experts here.

My first question:- (I am a newbie, so don't just spill it on my face guys)
I have a VM with its own IP, How to use that IP for a proxy on my laptop. Do I need any ID, Password or port? If yes, where to find them?

You should configure a proxy-server on that machine and set the port which will be used for proxy connection. To make configuration process easier you can use a special software like 3proxy or something similar to it. That way it will be very fast to create a proxy server on your VM. You can find tutorials over the search engines. Good luck!

You can define the proxies in the settings on OSX -> network connectionor use a browserplugin proxy (this would only affect browser data).
