I'm not going to be malicious but it seems that Scrapebox can be used to kick some of my competion off the first page if I choose to be bad. I used scrapebox so heavily during the holidays that my site is now on page 2 and 3 from page 1 (it's been there for 2 to 3 days now). I got greedy so my backlinks jump from 800 to 12000 at one point. It's down to 8000 now. Most of my competition has backlinks under 6000. So goog saw this as cheating and spit me out of page one.

So, if I can screw up myself, then I can backlink the hell out of my competions to page 3 or 4 too.

Scrapebox can be a powerful tool in the wrong hands.

Nope. If that were possible, everyone would be doing it to their competition. goog doesn't fall for that.

google hit you back to that page because you added a great number of back links in such a short time. What you have to do is this. Add the links but not 12K in a week or two. You need to add 1-5K per week. Here is the catch...You need to be consistent. You may get knocked back by Google, but if you keep the back link juice as it is evenly throughout the year, you will come back stronger. That is all that has happened here though.

Maybe I was wrong. But thanks for the suggestions.

1 to 5 K a week is really high for my type of market. The most that my competition has is 5 to 6 K total and they are 5-9 year old sites.

I was thinking more like 100 to 200 every 2 weeks to keep with it close to the competitions numbers. Will googs eventually kick me back to page one with this amount of backlinking?

Yes, if you blast a lot google will kick you back. However, that being said, once you have been kicked back, just keep up the same level of link flow and you will come back very strong.

If you want to stay high on the market though make sure that you are adding lasting links.

This has been covered many times. If you blast your competition, they will drop a few pages, but they will come back on page one in a higher position than they were.

So, the same can be said about your own site. If you heavily build links, Google might put you down in the ranks, but you'll be back higher than you were.

The other day, I was #5 and I did a blast. I dropped to #28 or so, but now I'm back at #2.

This is such a common question and I guess people are get frustrating when they don't see the immediate results they were expecting. Plan on investing time as well as energy into your campaigns.

umm dont blast sb comments back to your money site and you wont have this problem,

you could blast 1 billion comments, and as long as it INDIRECTLY linked back to your site you still get the juice..

Thanks for the encouragements! I was feeling down when this happened and at least I have a chance.

Being a newbie, I bucked up. Unfortunately, I'm hitting my main site since I don't have a link wheel set up yet.

However, I do have three or four other site that are in the same niche. Should I blast them instead vs my main site? They are not the usual web2.0 but self hosted wp blogs.

How should I link my site that I'm indirectly blasting so that my main site benefit? Should I just put bunch of anchor links from the site I'm blasting to my main site or 301 redirect? Not really sure how it's done when I see all those link wheel arrows pointing to the main site.

    Thanks Again - Mike
