Newbie Stucked, Need Help from Pros

Hi Everyone,

I'm a newbie here at BHW. I come to know this site from reading an ebook about ewhoring (a free ebook). I visited this forum and signed up right away after reading few posts.

I don't know what to expect but everything here exceeds my expectations.

So here's my dilemma. I am a writer by heart and by profession. I have been writing/rewriting articles for almost 4 years now and I was really looking for ways to earn more and passive income.

Here is what I have observed IM, there is no guarantee you are going to earn money on a single day and also you can only earn more money if you invest on website etc.

I have been reading a lot of stuff here about CPA, email scrapers, Twitter, Facebook and Craigslist... how to earn money from all these but still I got stucked. I have read relevant information about monetizing these sites here on BHW and yet I have not implemented them.

Maybe because I am used to rendering services and get paid upfront or after the work is delivered. I think this kind of source of income for me has stopped me to open my mind a little bit.

But I am afraid that if I focus on IM, I will not be earning more than I do when I am a freelance writer.

I know there are pros and gurus here. I need your suggestions and advice.

Info about me:

1. freelance writer (4 years and counting)
2. part-time high school and college teacher (1 year and counting)
3. married
4. no kids

My attempts in IM or Affiliate marketing:

1. Signed for Clickbank (got visits but no sale)
2. Signed for More Niche (I did not act on it yet)
3. Got a Facebook account (with fan and group page, promoting my blog posts here)
4. I have about 6 blogs from blogger
5. Adsense just banned me for clicking my ads using software for hiding my IP
6. Signed for dating affiliates, did e-whoring but no luck.

--definitely I sucked on this IM thingy...

I want to know:

1. How to earn passive income without owning a website or doing those CPA offers?

I want to do away with CPA offers since it's kinda complicated to understand.

2. Regarding my attempts on IM, do you have any suggestions on how to improve and to convert sales?

By the way, I hope my fellow black hatters here will give insights and hopefully not a simple sentence of "oh just browse through this forum and you can find answers."

I already browsed the forum but for a newbie like me, it's difficult to digest all the information. It's like being in the middle of the ocean and you don't know how to swim. I will just be drowned with tons of information and of course left me with doing nothing.

I am willing to listen, understand, explore more and it is just I need guidance on this matter.

Well why not try and put your writing skills to use? Article Marketing may be a good method for you. A quick explanation of how you could succeed with it.

You write articles about a certain niche or for example product you are trying to sell, such as a clickbank product, and link to either the product's sales page or your own landing page you created. Make your article informative and sales targeted and you can make sales. To expand further you could set up a landing site for the product and use article marketing as your main method of generating traffic and backlinks but also use other methods as well.

I don't know if I could hire a writer who didn't know that using the word "stucked" is not proper English. And you used it more than once. No wonder our children aren't getting good educations if even teachers don't understand language.

@azzip, i am not soliciting any grammar or spelling corrections here but instead for any advice. Just because I am a teacher it does not mean I am not entitled to commit any mistakes at all. What about your "educations" it is suppose to be education. Talking about grammar, huh?

My thread is not for soliciting potential clients/customers, this is the reason why I don't bother about grammar and spelling.

To azzip, please next time do share information not crap.

@moneymakermatt: I do appreciate your effort to reply to my thread. I would definitely try that one out when I have more time to focus on Internet marketing.

I love when people make grammatical errors while pointing out someone elses grammatical errors, all while trying to make themselves feel superior.

@OP: All in all, you need to get original in your work. Doing the same thing everyone else does won't generate any worthy income for you. Think outside the box and while reading other peoples suggested methods, find a way to expand on it.

Wow i seriously thought that was funny it was the stucked that got me to click this thread.. WTG sticking up for yourself.

Alright to be honest your best and fastest bet is article marketing. Sign up for a CPA account Talk to your AM and haggle with him to get you on weekly payments. After you get him to do that write like the damn wind and submit to ezine articles. Point to your domain have your domain redirect to the CPA offer.

That is about the fastest thing you can hope for. You can get it all set up in about a day. You could start earning money first day you start writing .. You really want to right for one week straight and if you are not making any money then you are definitely doing something wrong.

Well, valuable lesson learned for you - don't eff around with Big G like clicking on your own ads or trying to "fool" them. They're the #1 company you don't want to screw with.

Based on your background, I'd suggest you read through all of redtide69's thread about writing for Associated Content:

and then seriously consider buying his e-book after you're read his thread. His book has gotten great reviews, and AC might be a good way for you start building up a passive income. It will take a bit of time and effort, but everything worthwhile does. Just look around the AC forum here, you'll see redtide has a great rep and a lot of great advice for freelance writers, and his e-book rocks. But start with the $30 thread.

You might also want to sign up with elance.com, GAF, and maybe even post here in the Hire a Freelancer section offering writing/rewriting/proofreading services. A lot of people speak well but suck at the written word.

As far as being overwhelmed by all the info, yeah I hear you, my free advice is focus on one or two things, start learning and adapting and applying them to what fits you, then once you kinda have those down think about one or two other things you can start to learn. Keep optimizing what you have learned, but don't try a shotgun approach (your list of stuff you tried sounds kinda shotgun, I've seen so many warnings on BHW about not trying to fool G***le for example, and IMHO clickbank blows dead bear).

Okay, couple things. I did not know you were not in the States, so didn't even take that into account.

There are a lot of BHW'er's from other countries here, maybe they will have some advice. I'll defer to them for more info about affiliates for people outside the US. I know there are options though.

I am unaware of whether or not AC takes non-US customers. There are other affiliate programs for writers - AOL has one, I think there at least a few others. I think it would be hard to make a full-time living from AC or other freelance writing, but from what I've read it could be part of a nice passive income for you and one that sounds like it would fit with your background.

If you speak a language other than English, maybe you could offer translation services for people? Especially programmers for example - help translating plugins, help files, and application interfaces into another language - you could offer expert service at that if you speak another language.

And you're right - focus on one approach (or two if you like multi-tasking . Refine that/those, then look for other approaches. Get a bit of core business going well, then maintain it (aka wash, rinse, repeat) and then expand.

Actually, you can still make just as much money with AC as US residents do if you aren't a US citizen. A large majority of the people who are active in the AC subforum are non US residents.

Just read around in the thread that gregstereo gave you and you'll see how easily we do it.

Judging by your original post, I think it would be the best way for you to get your feet wet in the IM world. It teaches many of the foundations that are key to successful Internet Marketing (online content writing, SEO, keyword usage, keyword search volume and competition etc etc).

@bertbaby: As to owning a website, I just don't want all the hassles and all. I am overwhelmed with a lot of information here at BHW and I don't want to spend money on something that I don't have enough knowledge and might commit an expensive mistake.

I think, for you it's not using the right keywords and not getting targeted traffic: these are the main reasons for not getting success. If you haven't thought about it, then learn about it and put it to use on your blogs and in your writing. Look at how successful people (IMers) are using their blogs to mesmerize their readers. Also see how they are using SEO/PPC to get the targeted traffic in the first place. Plan well. Duplicate some of their techniques about getting that traffic and copywriting about a single product on each blog/site.

There are plenty of ebooks shared here, which you can dl and take notes. You can easily hire some of the best people here for getting traffic. You can also use link-wheels. You can use Mark*et Samu*rai and other such products to find the in-demand low-competition keywords and concentrate on Affiliate products to begin with.

With your writing skills, you can easily make some money on other forums like AC and DP. These can bring you a steady online income while you begin building on affiliate marketing. Then there is the CPA income, but that needs in-depth knowledge. Again, our forum is full of great ideas which you can try.

So, find out which method suits your style. It is only you who can do this. Definitely look for how to use long-tailed keywords and getting targeted traffic (on BHW, there is plenty of help available in both regards). Plan how you'll execute each method. For this, you'll have to get more organized. Making money online can be very easy if you organize everything and keep a focused approached. For that, it's changing your way of thinking! If you think you can make it, you will!
