Newbie question

Hi there,

this is my first post & has only been one week since I bought my first domain name (now have 15 to just use to learn)... I have put them on Namedrive, but noticed very little traffic...

I have a couple of questions I hope you can help me with... When reading on the internet re: Domaining (which I have been doing lots of reading), it is recommended to buy domains that have expired that have traffic. Any idea where you can find these? I have been looking at various "dropped" lists & spent HOURS going through names, typing them in manually into alexa.com to get rankings, etc... & if one does appear to have some traffic, it is gone... Is there an easier way to find such domains with traffic rather than wasting hours? and also, anything I can do to improve my chances on picking up a few of these domains with existing traffic to park?

Check out godaddy domain auctions. Some domains have traffic statistics. But, in general, there is huge competition in the domain name space and if the name is worth something, it won't be cheap.

Sometimes you can find buys, but unless you do some seo promotion, the ranking will eventually drop. I look for the best domain names that apply to your content. I just took a site and sprinkled some seo and now it's front page for it's niche.
