Newbie question ?

Hi there,

I am trying to figure out what are the best way to put a blog online !!!!
I am reading about the article, try to understand how G will rank it regarding my articles, and how unique he will be .

But writting down all the idea to clarify everything a stupid question came to me :

When I will have built and setup my blog, should I keep it with the generic blog adress like name+Blogprovider+extension(I am not sure about the syntaxe)
Or should I get my own name like name+extension

What do you think should be the best to get good ranking ?

The benefits of having your own domain (if it's well selected), far outweigh those of having a sub-domain, especially in the long-term.

a domain and a small hosting package is a small business cost in the overall business plan.

you should definitely get a domain and a cheap hosting account. this way you actually own the blog and it cant be banned by the free blog offers that blogger and wordpress have. install a wordpress theme to your hosting account and there you go! dont use blogger, they might ban you for something small.

Getting your domain and buying hosting might add some cost, but it is worth the money. Just make sure you need that name.
And .com is way more professional.

If you're just starting out with IM it's probably a good idea to just get an already hosted one. Blogger still ranks well in google.
