newbie question

Hey guys - i have been reading loads of stuff on this site - some of you seem like you could rule the world with a dell laptop! - some pretty cool stuff!

I have question bout ppc marketing.. i have looked around several sites, and i have seen a lot of these "guru" things, they all say - use these "squeeze" pages, and use this copywriting and you'll convert thousands of leads... my only problem is that a lot of these site look abit sh%t - so my question is - do they actaully convert? am i just part of a minority that thinks they are crap - and actually they do make loads?

It really depends how you target your audience. Yes they actually convert, iv seen it first hand. It all comes down to your traffic.

Thanks guys, is it mainly US traffic that it converts? i'mm based in the UK so i wondered whether there is different types of pages for different audiences?
