Any time you are doing something repeatedly which will annoy the owner of some web site (spamming YouTube comments f'rinstance) you will need proxies as it is too easy for the web site owner to block an IP address and some will have automatic systems in place to do this. Just try and post a hundred You Tube comments a minute without changing your IP address and see how long you last
I had this same question about proxies. If you are getting your ip dynamically (dhcp) how do you change the ip address? Will going to a command line and typing: ipconfig/release and ipconfig/renew not work? The new ip will come from the same subnet mask.
