newbie question: what are the essential FREE or cheap tools?

I am new to BHW, i have a website that i sell automotive accessories on and i would like to promote it and draw lots of traffic there. What tools are the must have freebies, i downloaded PRstorm yesterday, have not noticed any traffic increase. But it would be nice if i could get my page to rank higher when someone searches for a particular word.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Tools can only do so much. And be careful with PRStorm, it's a good way to get deindexed completely if you aren't careful. One of the best things to do other than good content is backlinks. In this day an age of SEO, it is a full time occupation to stay on top of all changes you have to know to keep your sites on top of search engines, never mind just starting. Your only option is time and effort, or pay per click which I have spent a ton of money on, so you only have two choices, time or money, or both.

the biggest tool you need is the information behind all the tools, you need to read read read and find out all the reason why the tools exist
