Newbie Question.. How do you use twitter for marketing?

Ok i have a newbie question, about twitter. I understand how it works, but i just cant figure out like, what i could do on twitter to get tageted traffic to my site. Do i just post my Link on all my twitter accounts, do i make my twitter page a freaking commercial?

are there some tips and tricks you guys would be willing to share?
