Newbie question for a brand new website

Hi guys. I started a new website providing free services in USA (no advertising, no spam) everything is legit. I kind of setup website to be SEO friendly but not enough keywords and contents, on the main page yet. In the last week around 200 people signed up to my site with a direct link via emails. I'm about to start doing Press Release and post them to various sites. Tried to find a business partner to do mainly marketing website, SEO but so far no one local.

Called a few local SEO companies and they are charging around $1500 for the first 3 month of service. What do you recommend what should I do? Hire SEO companies or is there something I can get done on my own? I'm an IT guy but weak with SEO.

Well, I'd only hire an SEO company if you have a reasonable knowledge of the SEO process. That way, you can understand exactly what they will be doing, and you can ask them the right questions. But yes, if you don't have the time to do it on your own, then hire an SEO company. Although its worth it to study SEO techniques and do what you can on your own..

I do have time to study but I guess I'm missing something simple. I read a lot about white hat SEO and the only thing I guess, I'm missing just on the main page good content with keywords for search engine. In regards to Black Hat SEO I'm totally new. My domain is new but idea is great and that's why people sign up. Just have no idea how to appear in search engine using keywords.

If you have no idea where to start then you might ask SEO company what they will do for the next 3 months so that you will be able to know what you can do and what not, according to that you can go further. It will help you to know new things and also if you do some works by own then you can get remaining things from expert. Else hire an SEO Expert and discuss with him(Make sure that he is well experienced and have UPDATED Knowledge).

Thanks Karthipers, lately I started reading a lot on a subject but as a beginner with SEO it takes time to learn. Honestly it's hard to say when someone is knowledgeable or not in a subject, where I'm not proficient enough. If someone could just give an idea and just point to the right directions then definitely, I can get it done even if it'll take me a lot of hours learning and doing it myself. I think it would be great to partner up with another knowledgeable person, it'd make things a lot simpler. I have a great idea with a finished site and another person working with SEO.

There are many blackhat techniques on this forum shared by some knowledgeable members, but most of them are churn and burn methods. Based on your description of your site, I don't think you are planning to join the churn and burn game. So, decide whether it's whitehat SEO you want to go with or blackhat SEO before you start reading/doing anything.

You better post on hire a freelancer sections or search on BHW so you can get few things ..

You need to correct the grammatical errors in your title and content and build up some credibility for your site. Get owners of "make money online", "work from home", and "freelancing" blogs to review your site so it can gain popularity. You have a lot of work ahead of you.
