Hello! I read the above thread on this section, but have a general question. I know pretty much what each type of link is, but what would be a good process for backlinking to rank a site. So many people say not too many links each day for a new site. Can anyone shed some light on this please. How many links a day can you create to a new site?

Read around the forum.

Gradually increase the number of daily links. Have a variety of links. And keep the link building pressure on.

best way way is to different types of of links like forum profiles articles, press releases, social networking ect it all lookks organic to google. Hope that helps a bit

Do daily link building. It will help. Quality backlinks may get through posting comments in forums or blogs related to your niche.

When the site is an all-new website i recommend that you get links from quality sources like PR sites (PRLog, PRWeb) and High level directories (Yahoo, BOTW), and after that publish some articles and post in blogs.

That's what worked for me and not be sandboxed by G.

You can build as many links as you want to a brand new site. If anyone disagrees, I would assume they haven't actually tested it, but instead they're repeating what they've heard.
