Newbie needs help!

Hi forum Members,

Right before I get started a few things about myself, I have recently just started getting into web development stuff and now have gotten the bug.

I have been lurking in these forums, reading posts, downloading ahem stuff etc.
but the one thing that I had not thought about was making money from webistes (yeah I told you I am a newbie).

So I have been reading articles on micro niche sites, back linking, keywords etc
etc.

So what I really want to ask is:

1. what software will I need to start out on my goal of making some money from the web?.
2. what articles should I be reading to garner knowledge from ?
3. what are the best hosting companies and domain name companies ?
4. what intial outlay of money are we talking ?

I am posting this not to get shot down and told not to bother.
I want to learn and keen to learn, we all started at the bottom.

So any help that you experts can pass over to this newbie would be gratefully accepted.

you dont need any tools you just need lots of information. Learning by doing and reading whole of this forum and the topics twice

it actually depends on HOW you want to make money... you can make money selling porn... you can make money selling pills... you can make money selling emails... you can make money with google...

I'm still a newb so I can only give this advice: Learn as much as you can before you jump head first into this and also limit yourself in the beginning. This is my second go at it and I am doing much better now because I only focus on one project at a time.

When I first started I had so many things going at once it made my head spin. So try and stick to one site/project/whatever after you learn as much as you can. At least until you get the hang of things. You will be dying to get started but early failures discourage a lot of people.

Sound like good advice

My problem is I normally jump straight in and regret it later!

To be honest I am not in it for the money in the beginning, I just want to do it for the challenge and the education of it, though that is not to say that would change if I became proficient at it.

Is there any material in specific that I should be reading in the first instance.

Go to the download section, and download as much as you can that is *popular*. That will get you started.... knowledge is power!

Just read read read read. When I first started, I couldn't get enough, I read anything and everything I could find.

Don't worry about tools now, just start with everything manually, so you understand how it works, how much work you have to put in, results, etc. THen you can look at tools later on and compare them to see what is cost effective and what works.
