A proxy is like an extra layer of security between you & whatever it is you’re doing. Generally, they’re used for account creation, spamming, and other general internet marketing activities.
In more simpler terms It’s an IP address that you buy & use.

Interesting question. Well, a proxy can change your IP address and make it look like as if you are in a specific location. For instance, you are sitting in India but you have bought an Elite proxy (Which is the most best type of proxy), then it would appear as if you are in USA and you will get all Social Media Traffic with that specific location. There are many other reasons for example there are some freelance platforms where they accept freelancers from a specific location etc.
