[NEWBIE GUIDE] How To Get Free Content

Thought I struck gold when I read about archive.org from some old posts by phpbuilt weeks back, but you sir shared more insight! Saved me a lot of time!

Anybody with a free alternative to the HTMLtowordpress converter?

Competitions are a good idea. For example, the competition for the best article. The prize can be anything that interests users. This is not a free method but it is very profitable in my opinion.

I've tried this a lot in the past, spent quite a bit of time on it, fished out the best content I could find. It never drove any real traffic.

I think it needs an additional step, respin it.

Hope I'm wrong, but never worked for me

Probably a method known by a lot of you guys. So this is for the unknown :)

Go to https://expireddomains.net and register.

Play with the filters available. Fill in something, somewhere what defines your niche and make sure to check 'Only available domains'

Now as a result you've got a whole bunch a domains available which all are expired and available.

The one that immediately got my attention was https://member.expireddomains.net/goto/1/3wocq0/489/ :anyway:

Go to https://web.archive.org/ and paste a domain from that list into the search bar.

In my case https://member.expireddomains.net/goto/1/3wocq0/489/

Now copy the text and go to https://1text.com and paste it. Text1.com is completely free and you can scan unlimited articles, but you have to register though.

Result:

Nice! Now you got yourself a piece of free content.

There are millions expired domains and millions and millions of 'free' words you can use for your website/project.

BONUS:

Download the entire website:

Go to https://domains.pbnhq.com/tools/wayback. Also here you need to register.
Fill in the website and snap date and voila - you can download the entire website.

After the download you can convert your html files to Wordpress here

https://htmltowordpress.io/ (paid tool)

Well that's it. Pretty basic stuff but maybe usefull for some users :)

Cheers!

Though it is not a new method, but still it works like a charm.

How many unique articles did you rip?

Did you upload them to a domain with or without any age?

How long did you wait for the results? How long were the articles?

I promise you there's people in here (me included) that are seeing traffic coming to these posts.

As long as you can't find the content anywhere else on Google, it's treated as unique.

I've got them on a domain thats a year old, mixed in with other posts. They where all not indexed in google, there are about 15-20 I'd say. I've had them up probably around 6 months.

Maybe I just got unlucky, but hasn't worked for me.

Maybe Google just hasn't crawled your site properly yet. Try submitting them manually maybe? :)

There all indexed, they just don't do well or rank for anything.

The site as a whole does well

I agree with ya. Time-consuming and 99% of the time you will find content that is less than 1k words and carries the risk of Google's thin content penalty.

Nonetheless, articles scrapped from expired domains are good fit for web 2.0 or PBN sites.

While I was thinking how best to use the articles. Your comment gave the best idea

I followed all the steps, but when I get to download the site, I get html files only. Is that normal?
