I am newbie for Google News SEO. Not only for News also for all other search engine news and News aggregation website. I found lot of SEO discussion but not able to find for Google News SEO.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Agree with veboo content is king

We are providing good content. No issues with that. But there are lot of competitor out there. almost Google prefer reputed website...

Yes i am also agree with veboo comment, Content is king to rule your website.

Quality content is important, It is always in the top. To get google prefer, Post first the unique news before others do.

Do you write your own news or you rewrite existing news? On your own or with your writers?

I have a google news website and back in 2010-2012 I didnt have to post plenty of articles, I would post like a hot story every one and a while and it would be featured in the news section or top stories and bring massive traffic.

I earned 45 thousand dollars in total from Adsense, and it was just a niche website too.

Back after 2012 I lost all traffic, and all my adsense dried out. Today its still in the news, but gets almost no traffic maybe 20 visitors a day, I used to have a ton of writers and an editor but I could no longer afford to pay the editor who would post up the writers articles, and I used to have a dedicated server that cost like 100 dollars a month but couldnt afford it anymore because I was getting no traffic to my website from google news anymore meaning no more adsense.



So basically this what I learned, after 2012 with the penguin penalty my website got hit hard, then with the Adsense changes using personalized info and search history interest based ads to place ads on your website I got zero clicks on my ads. Before Id put up an article and only relevant adsense would appear on my website. If I did a gardening topic the ads would be for foods, for gardening ads, all relevant and highly clickable.

Now I get irrelevant ads from users search habits, so Ill get an add for some perfume or some shoe that doesnt match my niche.

Also making it worse is Mozilla firefox which is a popular web browser is now running Ad blockers by default on their browsers.

YouTube seems to be the gold mine in terms of earning adsense, because even if you have the common ad blocker the Video auto play ads still run and give revenue. With blogs and websites the ads are no longer there.

Hi, @SimonSez. Isn't there a way to customize or to force the niche of ads that'll only appear on your website?

Some people say disable personalized ads, but Ive done that and still get the same irrelevant ads to my website.

I miss the old days, it was so easy to rank and make money, but these made for adsense spammers ruined it for everyone, they were content scrapping, and stealing articles, and spamming up and getting the top page spot while collecting adsense. Thats why its extremely difficult to earn anything from Adsense now unless you get massive traffic.

Adsense also got rid of that Keyword relevance in picking ads, because people were spamming high paying keywords into their articles and getting high paying ads, so thats why they use interest base, people dont know that google search its automatically set to interest based, unless you fix your google settings on their homepage to remove that.

This why Youtube is sapping all the money people are spamming the hell out of youtube now with clickbait videos because they know most simple ad blockers dont block the video ads playing in video and they can also game it. Also youtube videos can rank in the top of google search as well, and youtubers make maximum profit, bloggers and website owners have to pay to earn money buying domains, servers, etc

youtubers dont have to host all those videos they get to sign up for free and just post up videos and get paid.

But I heard google is going to crack down on YouTube now, first they said you needed 10thousand total views to monetize your channel, but they might go even further and say your videos must have 10 thousand views each before they start showing ads.

I read this somewhere. I thought that "10k view" is on a per video basis already. I'll have to re-check my sources.

I think you might be correct, I don't have a youtube so im not really privy to it. I thought it was 10 thousand overall views on your channel, if its 10k views per video wow now its going to take even longer to earn from them.

I just read about youtube money makers from an article, some girl did asmr videos and makes around $900,000 a year. Her videos get like an average of 2 million views per video and she has some ads playing before the video that you cant click so when the video finishes people said those are the ones that pay the most of all the ads the 30 second ones you can click skip pay in the dollars.
