Well I just found the site a little while ago and decided to join. Now my head hurts from trying to read as much as possible.
Not sure if I can soak up any more info on SEO.
Just finding a jumping off point has been tough. But trying to read and learn. BHW has helped so far in just getting me started.

I think this comes in phases. I started out and BHW looked like something... after I started to understand some basic concepts BHW started to feel like something else... from step to step I'm understanding more and more about what different people with different specialties are talking about.


The learning never stops.
 
I know how you feel, I've only just joined. You've got to start somewhere though. One thing I have learned from lurking on here for the past few weeks is that the only way forward is to take action. If you see an idea you like, get your teeth into it and stick with it until the bitter end (or until you run out of money at least lol).
 
My advice - don't take as gospel everything that's said here. My experience (i've been in this over 10 years) is that what works in one situation doesn't work in another.
A lot of it is trial and error. sometimes you get an unexpected bonus - something works that you wouldn't expect. Here's an example - yesterday one of my sites got loads of visitors from the US (I'm in Uk with uk based site) Adsense income up by about 400% on the daily average. Who knows if it'll happen today. A few years ago a site of mine ranked well for people searching for a nationwide business that was advertising on tv. I hadn't tried to rank for it. It just happened. Now, whatever i try i can't rank for it!
 
Hey, I'm in the same boat! I had no idea that SEO can cover so much ground. As a web designer I thought I had a good idea of SEO but it was just the tip of the iceberg. Welcome to the forums
 
Buy some pens and paper because you're going to need them! Welcome :)
 
Welcome! Soak it all up my friend but try not to fall in to the newbie trap of trying one thing for a week or then jumping to the next. Work out a plan, ask question and stick with it for at least a few months. Have fun.

Below are my numbers. I need to know what the numbers mean, are they good, bad, average or ugly.

Just looking for a little guidance on what you see.
