Newbie Amazon journey (Germany)

Hi guys,

it's my first thread in BHW. The last months i've spent with reading and thinking about starting something with the taget of getting a decent passive income. Thought a lot about starting a thread or not, but I hope it could me more motivating to focus on a fixed goal with some pushes from the community. But at first, sorry for my bad English, but I'm German. So, my journey will be about some German niche sites with Amazon Affiliate links. So let's talk about my goal.

To be honest, in one hand, i don't like fixed goals which are to high, because failing is very demotivational. But I want to start small, so my first target is 60 ? per month. Thats exactly 2? per day.

Niche Site A:
The main KW has about 250 000 searches per month. But I've focussed on some long tail KWs:

KW-A1: 720 searches per Month - #13
KW-A2: 30 searches per Month - #12
KW-A3: 30 searches per Month - #19
KW-A4: 20 searches per Month - #22
KW-A5: 200 000 searches per Month - #95

The niche site exists since last November and got some product reviews and know how about the niche. Normally I only have about 13 unique visitors per day. The product prices are between 50 and 200?. The last year wasn't really successful, the site needed some time to get ranked but 2015 is not so bad. In february i got my first sales:


So at the moment it's an average of 0,73? per Day. But the sales were at the first 7 days of february. Since that day nothing. My conversion rate is poor, but i don't know why. The second point is, that i don't know how to get the site on first positions at google at my "low keywords". For the main KW (#93) it will be too hard I think. And another question: Are English backlinks a problem for the search ranking for German websites? Or doesn't it matter, from where the backlinks are?

Niche Site B:
The main and focussed KW has an average of 3 600 searches per month. But it's a seasonal niche and in the season it has about 10 000 searches per month. The competition is very low and the product prices are from 300 - 800?. Some other KW which i want to focus are about 4 400 searches per month, 880 and 260 searches per month. But the site is not ready yet, but i tihnk it'll be ready in a week.

Day #1:
Sum: 16,12 ?
Per Day average: 0,73 ?

good luck for your journey mate... I have a site. It's a new site ranking on SE. I want to sell it. If you want it then I can sell it on affordable price. I don't have enough time to manage it. You can use the site for adsense and affiliate.

I also wants to join this type of amazon journey, but don't know about payment method as check will take , i guess, 3 to 4 months to arrive ( as I am Indian)

Thanks for your interest. What I've done in the past:

- Writing Content (about 10 Articles with more than 500 words)
- Buying a bookmark gig on fiverr

I've built no backlinks by myself yet. In addition to site A and B, i forgot Site C, which is in development and has about 6 articles with more than 400 words at the moment.

Wow, i really thought, that this journey won't be successfull. After the February (started Site A in November 2014), where i sold only 2 products with a commission of 16,12 € and a bad March where i got only 15,40, i was about quitting my journey as IM. But then, something magic (you can call it time) happened.

April:
Clicks on Amazon: 522
Ordered Products: 36
Commission: 63,50 €
Conversion: 6,90 %

May:
Clicks on Amazon: 1097
Ordered Products: 62
Commission: 124,45 €
Conversion: 5,12 %

June:
Clicks on Amazon: 1522
Ordered Products: 56
Commission: 194,47 €
Conversion: 3,68 %


July (Until 18th):
Clicks on Amazon: 979
Ordered Products: 68
Commission: 151,81 €
Conversion: 6,95 %


Why this happened?
I think my OnPage SEO wasn't that baddest and patience had played an important role in this journey. My articles with more than 1000 words and a good keyword optimization has brought me on #1 with almost every KW:

Main KW 1 (246k monthly searches) - #12
Main KW 2 (1,9k monthly searches) - #1
Other KWs with "product review" for my articles and so on I'm almost everywhere on #2 or #1.

Daily uniqe Visitors (average based on the last 28 days): 115
Last week, i had my first day with 200 unique visitors.

But this was only a question of time, so I've needed almost 6 months to made a bit profitable website for a passive income and I hope the earnings are stable.
My plans for the future? Of course, after the first success, I'm not satisfied with these earnings.

My primary goal for the next 3 months: making 250 € per month consistently
My secondary goal for the next 3 months: setting up a new product review site, earn in october about 50 €

My long term goal: 50€ per day.

I hope i will update this journey more often, than in the past. But i need motivation again to go on to my new goals. Maybe i can find some new ideas here to double my earnings.

I've got only about 10 product-reviews and in summary ab out 20 articles on the site. Could be much more, to earn more, i think.

No, I'm not using PBNs. I thought it would be neccessary, but i didn't use them. My backlinking strategy is searching at google for my main kw (last 24h), posting to blogs which have posted about the kw in the last 24h. After a few weeks of daily work, the backlinks spread over a lot websites. And some brands linked my review to their product site, to sell it better to customers.

so good positions and only 115 visitors? your product is seasonal? how you check positions?

Yeah I've checked the positions and it's realistic. My main KW 2 had 1600 impressions within the last 28 days, the average position 1,2 and 690 clicks. But the product is not that seasonal, but it's a growing market. The monthly search volume of these keywords have doubled in the last 6 months. The years before, they had only a low search volume.

I hope i can increase my daily visitors month by month.

Good news: Yesterday, I hit the first time 70 orders per month!
