good day everyone, I'm fresh to the e commerce world and looking to gain as much info as I can as I dive into this venture. right now I am in the process of building a store on shopify but I'd really like to run my own site, post my own products that i choose from various suppliers as well as physical inventory. is it realistic to run a store and make profit on one of these sites such as volusion or shopify ? I feel like it's better to cut out the middle man . why pay monthly fees if I can learn how to create a web page myself if it is more affordable in the long run. any tips would be greatly appreciated thanks !

Welcome on BHW, Everything is possible and people are earning really hard with shopify.

Be aware, it could take years of trial and error to make this work. Almost everything is profitable as long as you can bring traffic.

thank you I appreciate it! thinking of starting with some wholesale and or liquidation items. small batch of mixed product and sell where I can post for free. considering squarespace as well, but not sure if I can post my physical inventory there. have a great new year

Shopify is really easy to set up

Welcome to BHW mate. You could setup a small website with ecom based theme. It would cost $10 for domain and around $15 for year of web hosting on namecheap. You could find some good theme for free or maybe a pirated one (paid) on BHW. Good luck
