I recently created a new YouTube channel and was wondering which settings are important to change or set up (if they even matter).
Obviously, you should add your phone number and enable 2-step verification on your Google account. Then, there’s the YouTube feature eligibility settings. There are also small things like adding a profile picture to your Google account and setting up a banner on YouTube. But do those small details really matter? And what settings are essential?
One thing is clear: you need to verify your phone number; otherwise, you won’t be able to upload videos longer than 15 minutes.
My experience:
Everyone says you need an aged YouTube account and should "warm it up" first, but I tested a popular niche on a fresh account and never really ran into issues. My first video performed well, and I ended it with 500 subscribers.
Maybe it would have performed better if it had been on an aged account and warmed up first. I don’t know—I'm about to try that soon.
There isn’t really a video guide that simply covers the setup process for creating a channel that’s ready to upload. It could be a great video idea.
just a thought!
