New Youtube Monetization Policies?

So I bought this youtube channel a few months ago from a seller here on BHW and it got demonetized 1 month ago for no reason (I did not even touch the channel). I thought it was a mistake so I waited a reapplied a few days ago and I just received a mail telling me that the youtube channel was not approved for the YPP and that the "channel does not comply with the YouTube monetization policies". No more info.
BUT
I saw something new in the "learn more" option :

Our reviewers check content that best represents your channel against our policies. Since our reviewers can’t check every video, they may focus on your channel’s:

  • Main theme
  • Most viewed videos
  • Newest videos
  • Biggest proportion of watch time
  • Video metadata (including titles, thumbnails, and descriptions)
The above are just examples of content our reviewers may assess. Note that our reviewers can, and may check other parts of your channel to see whether it fully meets our policies.

Does that mean that the old ways of sending watchtime views to 1-4 1h+ videos is now obsolete or do you still manage to monetize your channels using that technique?
Do you think that reused content is the reason you didn't got monetised?

That technique is working but may be there have some thing else. Like check your videos had broken the copyright law from you tube studio left side content.

Main Theme means change the channel category if possible or edit.
Check the most viewed videos had broken any law.
Newest video check also.
Check every videos have title or metadata.

I've been on youtube for years, I know how it works, I can tell you that those videos are as pure as can be. Just some family members talking to each other.

Do you think that reused content is the reason you didn't got monetised?
Again, it's not reused content, it's pure original content, just imagine filming family members talking about various subjects, nothing more...
If this doesn't comply to youtube's policies, nothing does.

(I hope you've found a solution since April!, if yes please update..)

Maybe the Viet videos were too old (published years ago?). Youtube can demonetize after 6months of inactivity (not posting new videos)..
I've also read here on BHW that sometimes YT doesn't like it when after getting rejected, you reapply for YPP too quickly and several times.
My advice :
  • Try posting new videos and make it look like they're related to old content
  • Rebrand your channel (about section, category, illustrations, channel's thumbnail..)
  • Let the channel rest for a couple months before reapplying
Good luck

If you buy 4k hours your channel will probably got banned.
Because 4k hours will come from only 1 source and youtube will catch you.
That can be managed.

i can confirm that i faced your same issue with original content.

recently there have been some youtube updates.
main thing to do now is, keep testing and find the exact thing that is triggering it.

it could be any of the following.

1. new update cracking down on fake views and giving ambigious reason such as "re used content", which is not true.(this will leave the people scratching their heads)
2. cracking down on channel sellers who mass produce and sell channels.
3. yt is getting flooded with millions of spam channels across the world, monetized and spamming for money, so they are probably intentionally rejecting a large number to balance things.
4. bots having some glitches/machine learning AI not trained enough, to accurately review channel monetization applications, due to lack of human staff(covid 19).
the AI could still be in the training process to get more accurate.
5. bot triggering factors such as external traffic sources sending fake watchtime
getting flagged, lack of engagement on the channel getting flagged.
(only fake views without engagement)

its hit or miss at this point.

The problem is that the current channel was monetized for months.... multiple videos, original content, filmed videos with real people, with voice, etc... and yet it does not pass the monetization phase for some reason...
hello there,
maybe I'm late coming to this forgotten thread, but this is interesting. do you mind to give me the link of your channel ? you can send it in pm if you want to make it private.

another study time I guess, sure it will be fun...

Oh stop it, of course it wont get you banned.

Anything a random person can send to you (followers likes views) can never get you banned.

If thats how it worked everyone would blast their competitors in an attempt to get them banned from social medis sites.

It dont work that way
