Alright, so I work with a new website, im not going to mention it since im still new, n dont wana p*** off the mods, it needs more users, because its a site that puts up auctions from supporting companies, then users can bid on the auctions, if i had the money, id just hire someone here to expose the site a lil, but ohzy well, what can i do myself to expose the site having no SEO experience ?

Start reading :) There's loads of SEO methods available on the site, also probably worth Googling stuff like "onsite seo checklist" and stuff like that.

I just never understood it, and searching here is like searching for a 10yo cold case missing child,

In your case I don't think SEO is the most important. It's more important to get company's on your site. You will need market it hard on the offline side and get companies to list their 'product/service'. First offer them free listing. Get them to advertise for 3 months for like $20.

This way you can build up a small budget and buy services here. Backlinks, twitter and facebook blasts. Maybe start some sort of affiliate program.

Outsourcing is the way to go in my opinion... Ofcourse you need basic knowledge about IM subjects but it's better to hire an expert...

Goth_Mayhem,

Take your time to sort through as much information as you can on this forum. You can find some extremely helpful information by just reading the stickies posts at the top of each forum section. You need to put in the effort to get the most out of anything.

As for exposure of your website, a place to start would be looking into Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, etc. Creating company profile pages on each site and using services to get users/views/likes will increase your online exposure. Does your new website have an advertising budget? Advertising takes a large role in getting your name out to the public. Look into Google Adwords, buying spots on related websites, and many other outlets.

Once again I highly suggest trying to search the forum for more detailed information. You can find some great books on here to read as well.

Best of luck,
