Hello, i have a doubt.

If I buy a new domain and set up a wordpress while developing the web application (which takes about 6 months) how soon can I start link building using Guest Post and other techniques?

you can start whenever you want (I usually start after my site is indexed). But if the site (well, the domain) is new, I would start off slowly (with only a few backlinks per month, and only quality ones)

You CAN start whenever you want. I usually wait a few weeks to ensure a few things:

- That my site is indexed.
- That I can build it out with some initial content.
- That I have time to post on social media and manipulate the metrics a little bit.

After I that, I start building links.

do you backlinks take effect soon after or do ranking halt/drop first?

Basically, you can start as soon as the site is indexed, but I would still recommend waiting for two to three months for things to get stabilized.
 
I would suggest you to start backlinks right away once the site is ready, also backlinks takes time to index too.
 
You can start right away when you site is ready

I'd start with branded links.
You monitor rankings and see the movement.
 
Whenever you can start link building services and other SEO Technique . And Keep wait to see the results
 
you're more likely to be noticed when you write an authoritative post on a well known blog with thousands of followers. You own blog will even start getting more visitors
 
The first thing you should do is wait for the site to index, if you need fast link building use blackhat methods, otherwise follow whitehat methods (step by step link building is best)
 
You can start with slow momentum after you've published the first batch of articles
 
Once your site is ready, Publish some quality articles and improve the on-page SEO, If the contents and pages are indexed on google, You can start the link building Immediately.

Start with brand/generic anchors initially, they might be working in 3-4 weeks
 
You can start creating backlinks whenever you want, but building a high-quality can improve your ranking in SERP.
 
You said your site will take several months to develop. In that case, I would at least put some decent content on the home page right away ... some information relevant to what the site will eventually be about when completed. Then go ahead and start adding some backlinks to the home page. This gives you a head start on link building. And since the links go to real content, it certainly seems like Google should consider it legitimate.

 
start slowly, create content and wait until you start getting organic keywords and clicks, then start building high quality backlinks. This way it will look a lot more natural to google.
