Do you have content on your website? If not, that's where I would start.

When you do, try sharing it on sites like reddit and in Facebook groups just to gauge your audience's interest to begin with.

Facebook shares/ join groups and share
Subreddits - Manage to get as many people and share a few links with.
Tumblr - Not so much popular for pulling traffic but still works.
Pinterest - Get Saves / Followers - Website hits
A lot of work in general to get "free" traffic. I wouldn't really pay for ads if my website was just open.
Go for freeways - pull as much as you can.
When you become experienced enough, you can run ADS campaigns. (This requires some knowledge of marketing)

Organic traffic is going to depend on what keywords you are targeting. Build good content. Add backlinks.

Its also depend on niche, interesting articles can bring traffic from social sites like reddit or pinterest.

Affiliate or business site will do better withsearch engine traffic. Paid or organic

I often post links to my blog on y.tube and twitter. That draws traffic but you have to keep on creating new content and posting links to it.
