Hello Guys,
For weeks I was checking one website (more like a blog) in entertainment niche (first time for me in this niche). on 30th May, I finally started a website, in direct competition of that olde site with the exact type of content (better quality and more content and better inter-linking).
Some stats of that website:
1. Running since 2011
2. Articles: 250-251
3. Traffic : 350,000 - 450,000 / month
4. Competition: There are only 5-6 sites that are in the same category and I targeted the best one to compete
Queries :
1. I have 35 articles up so far. As competition is low, I started getting search engine traffic from the first day (without backlinking). So far, 240 UV from Google/Bing/DuckDuckgo and 50 from FB. Is it safe to say that niche is easy to rank and is it usual to get such traffic without any links? I have run sites in past but have not seen 240-250 UV from search engines so fast (without any link building or outreach), Or, is it google dance and it will take time to settle down ranking wise?
2. Link profiles of the competitor can be replicated very fast. How much age gonna factor in? Did anyone experience somewhat similar scenario?
3. As this site will not go well with affiliate products, only valid monetisation is via ads (AdSense/medianet/mediavine etc). I have heard that generic movie/TV/entertainment/wallpaper/lyrics type of niches do not do well in adsense due to lack of advertisers. Traffic mainly will be from US/Europe. Is anyone having sites in similar niches? I need a generic idea on RPM of the niche (I have not placed ads yet).
