Launching my website soon and I was wondering, should I be doing anything in the mean time, (SEO wise)

A 3rd party is taking care of the web design but I want to have everything ready.

    Kinda regards,
    Roger Smith.

start using you social profiles and building your followers. you dont need a site to use twitter and facebook.

also if its a bricks and morter operation claim your google plus for business page as it can take 2 weeks for the letter to verify the listing to arrive.

    good luck

Yes while you're waiting, here's what I would do to accelerate the SEO process eventually.

1 - Create 5 web 2.0 sites (wordpress, blogger, tumblr, livejournal, etc.) with at least 5 x 350-500 words articles in the same niche as you upcoming website. (Then when your site is up, add links to your main site)

2 - Write 10 x 500 words unique articles to announce the launch of your website (that you can use for press releases once your site is up)

3 - Create backlinks to your web 2.0 sites

4 - Write short description for digg-like sites that you can use once your site is up.

5 - Write more content for a blog on your site.

6 - Do keyword research for your site.

    Hope it helps.

What is the third party doing to help you with SEO? Have you had that conversation?

    Prototype,

It wouldn't hurt to start building backlinks, social profiles, and external properties. Is this website promoting your business? If so, you can start filling out profiles for your business on third party business listing websites. You could also create some web 2.0's on wordpress.com or other sites and submit articles with links back to your sit. You could also guest blog on sites that you know your target audience frequents in order to build some buzz about the site before it goes live.

That is all external stuff (off-site). As far as the onsite stuff goes, if you are launching soon, hopefully you have taken care of all that. It would be nice to have that squared away then you can immediately submit a sitemap and upload your URL and linked pages to webmaster tools in Bing and Google.

Here are a handful of other ideas,

    Hope that helps,

Keep a close eye on your competition might also help. Also remember to collect data and create sales copy based on your niche psychology.

    kintoups - thank you

bertbaby - Nothing really, they are designing the site, doing artwork and programming it to work, since it is very cusomazable ecommerce. its similar to cyberpowerpc

thecontentauthority - ill look around the site to take care of backlinks to my 2.0 sites.

i was reading somewhere that you can rank your 2.0 sites using "blackhat" techniques with backlinks to your main sites and that if those sites get banned your main site is still okay?

Well, to give one example of building SEO into the website, the artwork should include some of the keywords integrated into the names. How about the naming conventions for the page structure?

This is all new to me, I do not understand what you mean by naming the conventions for the page structure. Im guessing you mean put Gaming Desktop xxxx as part of the layout? like put the name of it in the page coding?
