New VPN/Proxy required

I was using proton for a while during travel to be able to watch certain region Netflix, decent latency/speed and price isn’t too steep.

Yeah CyberGhost can be a bit hit or miss. You could try NordVPN or ProtonVPN, both seem to work pretty well for a lot of people. Also might be worth just having a look around the forum , there are quite a few proxy providers here and plenty of threads with people sharing what worked for them.
 
Depends what you need it for. Most VPNs are fine for basic browsing, but many sites flag them pretty quickly. If you need more control over IP/location, proxies usually work better. VPNs are easier, but also easier to detect.
I wouldn't sign up for a long-term VPN subscription; there are plenty of offers available with a free trial.
 
If you just need privacy for browsing and public WiFi, a proper VPN is probably easier. If you need stable IPs for accounts or specific locations, then a proxy provider may be better. I’ve used Mango Proxy for proxy setups and it’s been fine for stable connections, but for general public WiFi protection I’d still compare it with regular VPN providers too.

This is really interesting, i would like to try it if i find a tutorial that's simple enough for me.

But for $2-5 can it really handle that much devices without lag?
As for the speed, would there be any monthly limits for a price like that?

Also...lets say i dont know enough about Linux and i set it up using a tutorial, how much maintenance would be needed after that to make sure i keep everything safe.
Security patches, managing IP address blocks etc... Lets say I want to use it for Netflix, BBCiPlayer and other things, to avoid IP ranges getting blocked...
Would this be a one time set up and thats it?

Proton vpn is something that i see working and is free and windscribe as well
