"New User" Not sure where to place this.

Long time lurker here, finally made an account to ask around some questions and leave feedback. I have been looking into selling products online, specifically printing designs that my girlfriend and I have created to be put out there.

So I'm making this thread to ask if Shopify would be the recommended method or if making a website on my own is better. I suppose even with shopifys monthly fees after all profit is made the monthly payments wouldn't make that big of a difference from a wordpress website. I'm just looking for options before I decide to spend some cash.

TL: DR I have a fulltime job, lots of free time and wondering where to spend my money.
