I've been writing SEO Content for more than 5 years. I'm proficient in optimizing content, headings, title tags, meta descriptions, and other on-page elements.

I'd like to learn more about technical SEO, but I'm not sure where to begin. Do I need to learn coding? Where should I start?

Thank you in advance for your advice!

Start by optimizing the speed of your site.
Find errors using gtmetrix and google page speed insight, Google them and try to resolve them.
Get a trial of screeningfrog and audit your site.

here's more on technical SEO:

But basically, you want your site to be...

- fast loading
- mobile friendly
- clean, intuitive and easy to navigate
- easy to crawl by spiders (well, google mostly, but other spiders wouldn't hurt either...)
- free of errors (no 404 pages, no looping redirects, no broken links, no missing tags, etc)
- all important URLs should be reachable in maximum 3 clicks from the homepage

The last point is especially important because not many people know, or care about it, and it's particularly important for new sites that have lots of pages (1000s / 10s of 1000s at least) because google has a certain crawl budget for each site, and this budget I think (I'm not sure though) that is lower for newer sites.

And if the Google bot can't reach all of your important pages due to crawl budget or other limitations then it won't be able to find some important pages and you'll have to work or pay extra to have those pages discovered and indexed.

So, this point is also part of technical SEO and it's an important one, so when you build (or rather plan out) your site structure it in such a way that ALL of your important pages can be reached (both by google and by people) in 3 clicks maximum. Some of these pages might include:

- content pages
- main category and main sub-category pages
- services / refunds / shipping pages
- main blog page / main blog categories
- important PDFs, infographics, vids, or podcasts
- etc...

Just figure out which are your most important pages and make those easy to access
