I know you've read this kind of thread millions of times, and I apologize for that. We newbs need some help you know? :p I'm VERY new at this, like I have no knowledge or anything and would love to learn more about this.

I've seen people saying "Ok I got my website SEO'd", my question is how? How are they "SEO'ing" it? And what do they mean by that, getting it SEO'd?

Can you guys post some useful SEO tutorials or something like that, useful links for a newb like myself, I would appreciate it very much.

And I have searched, I still don't understand a damn thing :[ I'm not THAT stupid, just not THAT good with this stuff :p

Anyway would appreciate it very much if someone can put me in right path, would love to take a step in SEO game soon :)

    Thanks!

There are 2 kinds of SEO. 1.On-page SEO (you optimize your title, domain name, meta tags, keyword density, etc.). Nowadays it's not that important anymore. More important is off-page SEO (building backlinks to your site).

Since you are absolutely new to the topic I'd suggest you read first posts on link building and search the member download section for relevant products. Hope this helps.

I have a blog on harvard.edu that has some photoshop tutorials, how would I build links for that? And how many post should I make per day with photoshop tutorial

I'm using Adsense, I'm not even sure if I'm doing this right :p but I'm going to try. Will read that link building forum, thanks :)

This is probably a dumb question for you SEO experts but say I have a "list" of keywords, what do I do with it? What do people do with their keywords?

SEO is basically how you to optimize your webpages search engine friendly. In the sense how you work on you blog or site to rank number 1 or in the top 10 of search engines for your selected "keywords".

The list of keywords your having are the key terms on which you are suppose to rank for. To rank a keyword you need to set your onsite or onpage optimized well. This refers to the structure of the page.

The most important part in ranking a keyword is the offsite or offpage part. Here you need to get backlinks for your blog to prove the popularity of your blog in order to rank. So the primary question leads to "how you get backlinks". So for that here is BHW, please do some searches and you'll find your self as an expert in SEO :).

Do PM me if you want any SEO tutorials. Best of luck.

I?m just going to suggest that you stick around and learn SEO over the next few months. Make sure you test everything for yourself and start slow. It took me about 3-6 months to get the hang of things. Best of Luck!

Thank you guys for the responses! I'm starting to understand this better now. So basically people use their keyword list to put those words on their page (like contents, tags, etc right?) and then go on other websites and put those same keywords including their web links, right? Making sure I'm getting this right :p

And rudyvise, thanks for the link! But I'm deaf and it's one of disadvantages I have here, I can't hear the video so I won't be able to understand them.

Ravager, I will PM you. Would love the tutorials :) Thanks

I'm not that rich like you guys :p but I have $50-$100 that I can invest in now, I was thinking, couple of domains + wordpress + autoblog plugin + some SEO plugins

How's that? Am I taking the right step?

Sounds good ^ But my only advice would be, to invest time before money. You will inevitably make a few mistakes your first time round, so it's best to minimise the chances by reading, reading and reading. Don't invest your money right away. There's plenty of good threads here on autoblogging, if that's the path you're going to take. Make sure you read everything there is and establish a detailed plan of what you're going to do. Work out work you're aiming for, what you want to achieved and how you're going to do it. Ask any questions you have too.

Once you're confident you know what you're doing, then invest your money.

And also know that while using a blogging method to help your SEO isn't bad, it's also not the only way to help your search engine rankings.

As you move on and forward with your learning, you'll find that backlinks are priceless in helping you rise the ranks of the search results for your keyword(s) of choice.

Alright awesome, thanks for answering this thread. So pretty much to get traffic is to build links, gotcha. Couple more questions- I want to start autoblogging, and was wondering why is it under Blackhat forum? Is autoblogging a blackhat method or? Will that risk my adsense account?

EDIT: What's good hosting you'd recommend for autoblog, hostgator?

Although I can't speak from experience (luckily), I would recommend that you do NOT place Adsense ads on your autoblog.

I've had better results (with lower payouts, however) with Adbrite, because they don't seem very discerning of clientelle, don't have a review period of your site, and thusly won't reject you unless you're caught clicking your own ads. Google them; they work very similarly to Adsense.

As far as hosting an autoblog is concerned, I personally don't believe it truly matters which host you use. I don't consider autoblogging a "crime" - rather a way to generate fresh content constantly, and entice users to click your adbrite/cps/affiliate links. Don't worry about your web host... they won't pay any attention to your account unless you have a high or abnormal amount of activity on your account. ie: a HUGE spike in large file downloads. Autoblogging takes up very little resources in my experience, so, answering your question, go with a cheap web host (hostgater, bluehost, dreamhost, etc.)

    Good luck friend!
